Sharapova is nice looking compared to other female tennis players. Of course if you compare her to some Vogue model, then she would look ordinary.

I have just spoken to a 21 year old male who absolutely agrees with you. He thinks Kirilenko deserves more attention, to put it nicely.

Come on, guys! This girl is not all that. Hell, she's not even the best-looking of the Russian players (Dementieva gets my vote).

She is tall and blonde. No ****, no ***, vain, her looks are are as over-rated as her game, and she's a young girl trying to be all grown-up. I have been to Ukraine and to be honest 7 out of the 10 girls I dated there are >= Sharapova. And the other 3 I'd go for over Sharapova anyways.

That said, if Maria just flung herself at me, it's on. Compared to fat, over-weight femi**** American women, Maria is way above average. But compared to her countrywomen, just average.

As I pointed out in the "Reading the score" thread, Maria gets the most attention because she's the prettiest of the BEST players. Kirilenko, Ivanovic, Harlkeroad, and the other pretty girls don't get more attention because they're not very successful, not because of some pro-Maria conspiracy. I wasn't putting my finger on the scale here -- I was serious in saying I was underwhelmed by the Great Kirilenko I've heard so much about. Maybe it was just a bad picture? I'll do some of my own research on this and get back to you...
EDIT: Just checked some video of her. She's pretty cute, but not spectacular. I'd probably still go with Sharapova.

To prove that I don't have some Sharapova bias, I'll happily admit that I'd rather take Ivanovic (judging from the photos), Harkleroad, and maybe another one or two others back to a Ruvu Hote-ru before I would Sharapova.

I will state though that tall and thin does not equal pretty if we are now discussing the top, say, dozen players. A meatball on a plate of spaghetti does indeed stick out.

So 35 other people including you are allowed to "muddy the waters" with their opinions but not moi?

As I said in the other thread, the results of this poll are meaningless anyway. Polls in general aren't always reliable, much less polls like this on TT. Besides, you are free to vote her "below average" in attractiveness if you want, but she's still going to make 20 million bucks a year based in large part on her good looks.

I don't know who the hell Stormy is.
