I have read how everyone has been saying how much it cost to play in USTA league. In our district we pay only $7 to sign up.

It varies from league to league and is set by the local league. Call your local league coordinator.

20 bucks for HTA (local houston), 40 bucks for USTA membership, and then 7 bucks for your league team and then any additional charges for court fees and balls.

It will be around $20. Here's the breakdown from VA District Rules 2007:
4. League fees include: $16 Virginia Tennis fee to be collected when a player registers on-line using TennisLink $1.50 Mid-Atlantic Fee to be collected when a player registers on-line using TennisLink. TennisLink fee to be set by National (usually $2.50) Additional league fees to be determined by each local league Our local league does not add any additional fees at registration. |

Damn that's cheap what I'm seeing. I paid about $35 last fall and $65 last spring. Two diff. locations in the same town. I think the more expensive one included some court fees.

I spent like $120 to play in a winter mix league, because you have to cover the expensive court costs for the season.

I guess what I should have made clear is that the $20 fee is just to register for a VA USTA team. You will have to pay court costs in whatever league you play in. The indoor spring league I play in was $12 per person per match last year. You'll really need to check with your local league. Here is a link:

$17 to sign up for the league.
$12 for court costs (2 hours) each time you play. $3.50 for a beer afterwards. Getting your butt kicked by a 62 yo junkballer - priceless! |
