Hey guys,
I was flipping through the 2007 gear guide edition of Tennis magazine and they actually had some cool products in the fitness section this year, particularly the ultimate burn machine. Anybody have one? I'm extremely tempted to purchase one, the weight in the middle looks like it would work the core well..........but I'm not exactly a fitness expert. Anyhow, you guys can chime in. |

Why don't you just do crunches, sit-ups, or bicycle kicks on a mat? You'll save a bit of coin which you can invest in something a bit more useful, like a retirement fund

The ultimate burn machine is your own body. You can torch fat off your body with the right selection of bodyweight exercises - don't need the gym if you don't want to!

Definitely invest in a retirement fund!
But, also invest in your body and if you love tennis, get the best advice on training. Most guys are just going through the motions. Even if tennis is just a recreational activity you can do the kind of training that makes you healthier and faster/stronger/more flexible on the court. This site (www.powertennistraining.com) looks pretty good to me, from what I can see. -Robert

No, never even heard of it............my friend just got his burnmachine and he said it's incredible.............mine doesn't arrive till next week. If you look on page 54 I believe of the april 07 Tennis magazine, you'll see it...........those two circular hand grips rotate 360..........I'm anxious to get my hands on it.

Ubel, you're truly annoying and you're only a post on a message board..........stick to the topic of the thread........I wasn't seeking advice, I asked if anybody could chime in about the burn machine in Tennis magazine. I'm rolling my eyes because those two idiot posters are using my thread as a forum to promote their website.........in order to make money..........you seriously must be slow dude (rolling eyes).

Sorry, but I have nothing to do with Goldy. Don't even know the lad! Didn't mean either to crap in your thread. Sorry if it appeared that way. But, if that's my worst offense today, I'm stoked!

Looks like an ultra-fancy over-priced dumbell/barbell.
You could prob say a few hundreb bucks and get just as good a workout with less pretty looking equipment. http://www.theburnmachine.com/index.html |

The Ultimate Burn Machine can be seen on these boards when Phil or Dedan's Penthaus (and select others) put a fool in his place....or bust a liar or a fraud.

Well, my burnmachine came in and I've been working out with it for a couple days now, and I have to say it quite possibly might be the sleekest most effective unit I've used for any sort of workout. Firstly, the quality absoluteley top notch and the stainless steel just shines. THe rotating bars glide smoothly around, so just by turning the circular bar grips you can place your hands in a ton of positions. But what is really causing me "burn" is the center sliding counterweight.........when I slide it all the way to the left or to the right, my whole centre of gravity becomes shifted and I feel myself using all sorts of stomach muscles, most of which I've never used, to stabilize. I'm buying into the asymetrical concept........I was doing simply curls, and because the weight was off center my lats and abs are feeling it today........I'll give another update after a week or two........but so far the quality is absolutely supberb, and the workout is taxing. (I also saw it in the month's Men's Healthy (UK edition) and they gave it high praises)
