The conditions at US Open

In Tim Henman's interview, he said that the that the US Open courts were playing extremely fast- faster than Wimbledon. Is this true, can the American hardcourts really be that much faster than the ball-skiding grass courts? Can anybody who's been to the US Open (and perhaps Wimbledon as well) give me their thoughts?

But in the context of the conditions, this court - and I wouldn't say that I'm exaggerating - I would say that this is probably twice as fast as Wimbledon. That's an aspect that has changed. I would say Wimbledon is probably one of the slowest tournaments of the year now, with the way that the conditions are.

In order to have longer rallies, suppossedly the All England Club has slowed down the grass courts. So, I could see the hard courts being faster than the grass courts nowadays.

Wimbledon has been slowed drastically the last a few years with new grass. US Open court has always been the fastest hard court available. This year, it uses lighter ball which makes it even faster. Unfortunately I think this is one of the reason the quality of tennis this year hasn't been great.
