Default No coach for Federer

Mcenroe was at his best without a coach and the same goes for Federer. Why do they play better without a coach??

I have no coach and my tennis record is 100+ wins and 4 losses. maybe it helps that my opponents were all under a 4.0 rating. Who needs a coach?

Rickson, you should start playing better players (4.5 and +) if you have 100+wins and only 4 losses. It will be much more fun for both you and your opponents

I don't have the time or money to play in a league and this same group of around 10 guys keep calling me out to play. We all started playing last year and I surpassed everyone in my little community by reading tips on the net and videotaping matches. 2 of the losses came early on to my roommate, who has a killer forehand, but he hasn't beaten me since I started ripping inside out forehands to his backhand side, and the other 2 losses were to 2 guys who have been playing for several years. I admit though that I'd prefer playing the 2 experienced guys, but they were one trick ponies who don't play with my usual group and are difficult to reach for future matches. I'll find some more players who are at the advanced level to play with.

Although I've only been playing for 14 months, I'd self rate at 4.0. My serve is consistent and can reach the fence in one bounce. I can hit a 1hbh and a 2hbh although I prefer the 1 hander. I can rip forehands and volley with my backhand as well as the forehand side. I have some trouble dealing with heavy pace on my backhand side, but overall, I have a decent baseline game.

As well as he is playing this year, I still think he needs a coach. He can be even better. He needs someone to push him coming to the net more. His volley skill gets rusty lately by not going there more often. It is scary to think Federer can still improve a lot in many areas.
