djokovic is different from nadal and federer...
djokovis is arrogant and 'talk big'.. the interview on him at the fO 2006 after loosing from nadal is 'sick'...... he has to learn from nadal and fed on " how to become the champ and be a gentleman " |

I don't understand what the fuss is about this guy. People slam Davydenko's game for being boring, but Djok's game isn't any more exciting to watch. I saw his match against Jieminen today where he was faking leg cramps in the third... move perfectly during the point, then hobble around in between. I've cramped myself in some long matches and I know it can be easy to "tune out" during points if you're not too bad, but the way he was hamming it up in between EVERY point was just blatant gamesmanship. Not to mention he was doing running start, jumping fistpumps at the end of the match - whatever adrenaline he had going during points is NOT going to allow him to do that at the end of the match if he's really hurt that bad.
The guy has talent for sure, but I definitely don't see him being destined for "dominant" status in his prime. I don't see what everyone else sees that sets him apart from the rest of the younger guys on tour. |

You didn't get anything I said judging from your reply. Great players and legends do not become legends in a day or a month but in a long period of time. Federer didn't just start playing tennis one day and suddenly he dominated everything. There were times where Federer lost to most of his opponents until he slowly started to improve and started beating some of the top players till the day when he started dominating the tour. Right now Djokovic is at the very beginning of his career and he is the number 6 in the World with convincing performances and consistent results. Of course he didn't beat Federer yet but make no mistake that the day will come one day sooner or later as they have like 5-6 years age difference between them. Also from all the youngsters the ones who proved that they have a promising future in the top 10 are Djokovic and Nadal and right now no one is dominating the ATP because Federer is still in his prime and he is hard to beat on all surfaces (maybe except clay So my point is that in my opinion Djokovic is the one to take Federer's place, if anyone is ever going to take it sometime, with Nadal having a glimpse of it before Djokovic does for a long time. Of course this is just an estimate and we don't have a clue about young players just emerging or if some players are going to be injured for a long time and so on but Djokovic has shown that he has the ability to get results and show a good performance on all surfaces and in a steady rising pattern and that's what is needed in the today's tour to be one of the best. Federer won't dominate forever whether he wants it or not except if he has discovered the fountain of youth and immortality and will never age or die. Someone else will be number 1 in a few years whether you like it or not. |
