3 GS Titles in One Year
This is shaping up to be a signature year for Federer. He'll have 9 tournament wins now as well. I'm sure he'll be playing the Madrid masters and also the year end Masters. Winning them both would take him past Muster's 10 titles in one year. What else is special about this year? He's performance against the top 10 players on the ATP list. He's had two losses to them. I could go and on about what makes this year special.
I would be happy to have him in the best top 10 players based on achievements now in the open era. The question is how far up that list he can climb. Playing as he is now, he looks a cert for two/three GS titles a year. Which would mean conceivably in 3 years time he'll have 10 and still be the right side of 30. If he does that then by god.. what a player  ! |

Fed has had 0 losses against top 10 players.
He has 1 loss (Henman) against anyome in the top 20. |

Actually, Muster won 12 titles in 1995. That year, Muster was 12-2 in finals and 12-3 against Top 10 opponents. If you're thinking of Sampras' ten titles in one year, Sampras was 10-1 in finals in 1994.
