She was never hot. With the power of professional make up artists, world class photographers, anybody can look "hot." Kournie was overhyed. Looked alright, but carried herself well. She is as "hot" as Sharapova, Vaidisova, Ivanovic with the aid of makeup.

The prettier girls are not hyped, but they're still the prettiest.
Serena, Kirilenko, and Dulko spring to mind.

its not all about the face, anna k circa 1999 had one of the most amazing bodies in the world, while Sharapova looks like a gangly stringbean with no curves at all. and Ivanovic has a gut, while anna k had a 6 pack.

plus there was that attitude(like anna dating 30 year old hockey players when she was 16, that raised some eyebrows) While Sharapova & co seem like nuns.

If she plays team tennis, then her back-problems must not be that bad!

She just signed an endorsement deal with sports apparel manufacturer K-SWISS, so maybe a comeback is in the works…….

She has made too much money with endorsements to ruin that. How much money do you actually need?

She will never be back because she was all flash and no substance and a bit of a head case besides. Talented? Perhaps. We will never know for sure though.

I've seen her in real life and I've taken her pic before a match, after a match, and at a regular old hitting session. She was not wearing makeup at these times. Almost every guy and some girls that have seen the pics have marveled at how hot she is even without makeup. And I am not a worldclass photographer.

I agree, the makeup and photographers help, but I saw Kournikova play in person and she was hot. The hottest female ever? Well, no. But, still hot.

From some angles Sharapova can look OK, but I really think she's manish with her very broad shoulders. Vlaidisova I'll never understand. It's like everyone just looks at the blonde hair and thinks she's hot. She looks even more like man.

Of course we all have our own opinions of who is and who isn't hot and we're all entitled to those opinions. Personally, I have a thing for Jankovic, but, then again, I like brunettes, and dark eyes.

Serena was never hot. But back in '99 when she was lean, her body was smokin'.
