Default Put together the "Perfect" player

If you had to compile together your own personal tennis player using professional’s strokes / physical and mental attributes, who would you use?

Here is mine….

Serve – Pete Sampras (Goran comes very close)

Forehand – Roger Federer

Backhand – Roger Federer

Backhand Volley – Tim Henman

Forehand Volley – Stefan Eddberg

Smash – Pete Sampras

Backhand Smash – Roger Federer

Return of Serve - Andre Aggasi

Speed – Rafeal Nadal

Strength – James Blake

Agility - Paradorn Srichaphan

Balance – Roger Federer

Heart/Passion – Canas

Stamina – Canas (Murray if the steroids rumour is true)

Mental focus – Andre Agassi

I'm talking in regards to "weapons" here. Henman's weapon is his volley and Blake's is his power of shot.

Federer in your opinion is perfection all around, i will concede he probably has the closest game to being perfect but when you compare some of his shots and attributes to other great players, he doesn't always come out first best.

M. Stich with a Sampras or Federer type of head on his shoulders. THIS is enough said .
Federer is pretty close to "ideal" as well.

Edit. By the way the Sampras smash was average considering the greatness of his serve. He missed quite a few of those...people just think smash = Sampras because of the "slam dunk".

Oh, I'd take Pete's slam dunk smashes any day.

just wow, you know nothing about tennis or even this topic. Henman has AWESOME vollies while Black has AMAZING power. These are THEIR special attributes. Since when does winning a slam have anything to do with how good a player is at a certain aspect? Apparently your logic is saying something like Goran Ivanisevic has a mediocre serve since he's only won one slam.

Interesting, i completely forgot about Mcenroe's volleying. Courier could definetely go for long, that guy had legs of steel and a cardiovascular system second to none.

Well said, and thank you. Federer obsessives need to take notice there are other players out there.
