Default does seeded player get points for the first round bye?

Just wondering, for all those tourneys with seeded player got a 1st rd bye, when they lost in the 2nd round, do they recieve the same point as other unseeded player who had won a match?

come into my mind when Nalby (8th seed) pull out in Miami, his spot is replaced by a lucky loser, Fernando Verdasco, who automatically recieve a first rd bye into rd 2.

by the way, shouldn't the event seed the highest unseeded player (33rd), move him into Nalby's spot, and recieve a bye, then have a LL to replace hiw own spot?

that sound more fair to me

To answer your first question, no, they do not get the second round loser point if seeded players lost in the second round while receiving first round bye. They would get first round loser point.

Second question, they would do what you suggested if the tournament hasn't started - move the highest unseeded player to a withdrawn seeded spot. However, once the tournament has already started, they cannot move any player around.

does that apply to both entry point and race point?

if that's the case, an unseeded champion would recievemore point than a seeded champion

Entry points are the same as race points except that they are five times more. The winner of the tournament gets the same if he had a bye or not. Seeded players who have a bye get THIRD round points if they win their first match, first round points if they lose.
