Default practice/training

guys, what kinda pratice and training schedule do you have?

Right now I play about 4 times a week (1:30 to 2hr at a time), 2x with the academy at my club and the rest is rallying with my dad. I dont do much training but we do wind sprints and general off-court drills at after the group practices. I also do pushups and am thinking of learning yoga.

I play two hours on monday, three and a half combined match/drill on saturday, and two hours on sunday for drills. On monday I have a private lesson for an hour, and the rest of the days I hit or play a match with my sister or do off court training.

lets see, during the summer, i play basically everyday and running (for XC) for conditioning. During the fall i play as much as i can (plus indoor once a week for 2 hours plus tournaments) and run cross country, partially to get in better shape for tennis. In the winter i play once a week on sundays for 2 hours, run winter track for conditioning and play tournaments. And in the spring i'm going to play for the high school team so i will do whatever that entails.

I try to play 4 days a week during the winter, sometimes more, sometimes less. When it is nice out, 5 day a week minimum. It is a pain getting courts in the winter, so we end up driving to indoor courts like 25 minutes away, takes me 35 minutes to get home in rush hour traffic. Sucks, but its worth it.

As for working out and staying fit, I work out 3-4 times a week. I start out on a bike and doing 20 minutes of that. I do an endurance program on the bike that keeps ramping up the difficulty until the end where you are about to pass out your quads burn so bad. Then after that, I do 6 machines, 4 leg, 2 abs. I rarely work on my upper body, just because of all the knee problems I have, I would rather spend 3 days on my legs, rather then 2 on legs and 1 on arms. Plus, more power comes from legs and abs then arms.

well, with school and stuff, I usually play for about 4-5 hours on the weekend. And on the week whenever i have free time after school i may take a basket of balls and serve for about half an hour, or use my ball machine for an hour, but this is only about once during the school week. as for conditioning, i'm part of a conditioning program at my school, where its usually once a week and we do all sorts of stuff. That really helps keep me in shape.

2 hours on Tuesday and Thursdays and then usually play on Saturday or Sunday as well. Kind of hard to play a ton in Northern Ohio in the middle of January indoors, with school and a job. I guess I make it work.
