A special thanks to Magma, who always seems to get stuck hitting with the girl. We played our umpteenth ladder match today:
![]() Then, after we finished, The Match commenced. We tried to play some doubles, but kept getting distracted by watching The Match. I got to use the Babolat AeroStorm again, and I still love it! JRK made a new friend on the court: ![]() Then TFM, F1 and I headed to Dogfish, where F1 reallllly impressed our waitress!

The Ultimate question is how many times did F1 shank a ball out of the court and cuss really loud. That was always the highlight of hitting with F1

Lol...I was having a bit of a hard time with it! Probably shouldn't be watched by anyone susceptible to sea sickness!

auzzie - nice match yesterday. pretty much the result i expected. i expected you to hit quality groundies and make my fat azz run around like an idiot. we had a pretty long rally towards the end of the match and i swear i saw spots, the tooth fairy and elvis presley.
sappy -- nice quality clip. figure that short clip showed auzzie winning 2 points and me sneaking out 1 point. i think the actual ratio of points won was 9 to 1 in auzzie's favor. after the tennis we were all supposed to go to spider pig for korean bbq. instead sappy pulls a "thumber called and she's angry and she made me dinner so i gotta go home now." EPIC FAIL. leave your balls and your manhood at the front desk. do not pass go. |

Nice hit at Nottoway today. Big turnout from MD peeps - PPL, the JJJJosh family, Allie - and VA folks - TheJRK and me and the DC crowd - the one and only Sappy. Lady Topaz made a grand entrance later and immediately organized a mixed dubs match, grabbing JJJJosh as her partner against Mrs. JJJJosh and PPL.
That match was in progress when I left, as was a singles ladder match between Allie and JRK, with Sappy calling lines. (don't ask who broke serve first) Good stuff; we VA peeps owe our MD cousins a recip visit. (hope that gets me out of the Allie Rex outhouse)

Oh, that wasn't me...I was answering the challenge made by PPL! A rematch of a mixed match we had when I went up and met them at Howard HS. We didn't finish, though...because we started melting on court.

![]() tfm, you were lucky that you managed to escape right before auzzie was ready to cut off your head. i had fried nice last. had to wash down the tears with a beer. it could of been honey pig. on a side note, the thought of tfm and topaz eating dinner alone together was rather entertaining until f1 posted that he was there as well.. it'll be hard to get tfm cornered like that again topaz. you had your chances. i have a 1hr clip of the doubles match today. i'll create a upload for the 4 participants to download once i figure out how to convert quick times |

![]() Was glad to see the JJJJoshes cross the river. I had forgotten how well they both strike the ball. And Sappy and Allie have both made quantum leaps in their games. JRK still toys with us, I think, refusing to unlease his full power game on us mortals. And for someone with a sore ankle or knee or some other joint, PPL sure did scamper at his usual clip - 2 MPH short of light speed. Again, a fun morning. Many thanks to all of you for prolonging my tennis life by another day. P.S. Wanted to see that brutish forehand of yours, but was just too played out to hang around. I would look at it once and probably try to keep you from hitting it ever again.

i love to play tennis in virginia! sappy led us marylanders to eden plaza and we left like tourists, loaded down with bags and bags full of vietnamese food. some of us were even double-fisting the bubble tea and the sugar cane juice... i pointed to and bought something that looked like soap-on-a-rope, and it turned out to be some terrific dried & fried tofu.
jrk, thanks for a fun match: it was so sweet how you were so concerned about accidentally hitting me with the ball, that you hit the ball into the opposite corner, again, and again, and again. so considerate of you ppl, thanks for those odds against me. i'd love nothing more than to prove you wrongwrongwrong and make you lose all sorts of money & dignity to sappy, but...you're probably right sappy, thanks for being such a lousy partner so that i didn't feel bad about my own crappy spastic tennis. srsly. you're a star! edit: p.s. i covet jrk's shades. but i want them in turquoise!

Thanks Sappy for taking us to Eden center and showing us all the hot spots. I think there is a resturant you have not gone to it is by the supermarket, I got a pound of the crispy pork there and PPL got a pound of pork and half a duck. |
