Wow guys, thanks for all the feedback!

Question, yeah, I looked at what they already had, and figured it wouldn't be much to add it, and of course, I would pay for it. (there are roommates who dont' want it and wouldn't want to pay for it, of course)

JRK and JRS...let's talk about all this stuff you want to get rid of!

RE the cable box...the thing is, the cable is not set up under my name, I would *just* want the cable box without having any other account or anything like that set up. I sent an email to them regarding it, too.

RE DVD recorder...then I don't have to worry about running out of room and wouldn't have to pay for both a DVR cable box and then the DVR service, too. Though, a Tivo would work, too!

So, JRK and JRS, I'll send you emails in a bit, ok? The money situation isn't great at the moment (scraping and saving for the move) but should improve greatly next month! And I wanted to get a laptop *anyway*, too! Thus, the reason I'm moving. Still in NOVA though, so I won't have to hand in my TWMAC card.

Topaz,

For around $49 bucks, you can buy a cable tv wireless receiver. Run it from the main box to your room.

Hmmmm, but I thought cable companies scrambled signals so something like this wasn't possible? If this really works, that would be perfect!

Cool.

I have to do a little research, there's some sort of paper work I need to fill out with TIVO about transferring the service of the box to another person when I sell it.

Also - if you rent a COX DVR then you only pay the monthly fee for the box and you don't have to pay for programming info.

Only time you have to pay for programming info is if you buy a DVR that isn't from your cable company.

Another thing to think about with the DVR is alot of then come with two tuners, eltting you watch one channel while recording another or allowing you to record two shows simultaneously.

Also, I'd just ask the roomie/landlord to add the extra box to the service and promise to pay for it - you should need a separate account etc....

Wouldn't the problem for this be that you would have to run down stairs to change the channel or that you could only watch what ever channel was on the box in the other room????? I might be wrong - what do ya say Sup????

I got four racquets to demo* today from TW; I'll probably be hitting with them at Pine Spring Park (where my condo is) on Sunday afternoon, if anyone is interested in taking a look at them:
Dunlop Areogel 4D 300 Tour
Prince Exo rebel 95 Mid+
Prince 03 Speedport Pro WH
Becker VI OS
Just email me for my phone number.

*Not switching racquets, but just wanted to hit with these for the experience.

Ok, soooo...I should be able to rent a DVR cable box (it is only 5.50 a month) w/o any other service? (and then I'll get her to add TTC and my life will be very happy!) (oh, then I'll buy JRK's laptop, too)

From what I've read on the link Sup provided, the remote enables you to change the channel from wherever you are, but yes...you could only watch whatever channel the original unit is playing...so if someone else is watching it I'd be stuck with that channel.

Still...something to keep in mind!

Zhengjie, I got your AIM message, but it seems I can't hit this Sunday. I'm going back to school that day. Maybe some other time?

Xisbum, thanks for inviting us to hit at FRC. But, I don't appreciate the sharp-angle pass you hit on me while I was at net! That shot was so good that I felt like a dumbfounded, lead-footed Safin.

Rest of the guys, I had a lot of fun. LOL @ my shank overhead that almost beaned JRS. And, Sup, please don't hit the Tsonga forehand anymore. Please pronate. keke.. By the way, Sup, the girl on my avatar does NOT look 15.

That's fine. I have my lesson at 9:00 am tomorrow, so maybe by the time we hit I'll be able to keep the ball in play
Seriously, this coach is doing wonders for me...I am beginning to feel like I may actually be able to play this game.

Ha! You were just shocked that these old legs even got to the ball; anything after that was Twilight Zone stuff.

And while I did admire all those aces you and the Sup pounded by my aging eyes - and they were frequent - I admired more those beautiful volleys you hit, also frequently. I also swooned over those sizzling groundies JRS smacked, especially when he was on my side of the net.

And Lady Topaz was worried that Sup might "hurt" us; hey, you steps on the court and you takes your chances. No quarter asked, no quarter expected. We did just fine, thinks I.

P.S. Your avatar looks at least 21 to me. End of discussion.

You know I have to maintain a 3.5 look, as that's what I am.. right? When needed, say a break point or if JRS starts acting like Jolly, I would use the power of greyskull (all PP) to set the record straight.

The doubles was good. I was really having a hard time at the club playing with members and keeping it enjoyable, as well as ending it around the hour. This helps me.. as JRS says.. slum it with the 3.5s.

p.s. shcmad hits it flat, but he did improve his play both on serves(less dfs) and volleys. I tried to imitate his tsonga/shcmad forehand but its kind of tough. I don't hit it as flat.

p.s.s I told you Shcmad that your avatar looks young. If you go see this girl and this guy pops up.. I'm denying I even know you.

Well, I had my lesson this morning and then took to the courts with my son. Playtested the Prince Exo rebel 95 Mid+. It felt like it had no flex at all...which kind of amazes me, given its spec. But it was probably string with poly (no, I am not that good enough to tell, except by feel, and it felt like it was). Monfies may have hit a couple times with it and fallen in love; but it was a few more than that and back into the demo box.

Xisbum knows what he's talkin 'bout! I'll take it! *JR voice*

Curse you Topaz, Hwood, Sups! *shakes fist a la TFM*

Again, it was fun playing with y'all. But it wasn't fun watching Sup not pronate on forehands. You'd have a tough time against J0lly if you keep hitting the Jo-Wilfried forehand.

Think I confused myself.... HA.....

When I was talking about buying programming for the DVR, I was talking about the scheduling info that you use to schedule recording for your DVR..... sorry about the confusion...... For example, if you buy a brand new TIVO, you have to pay a monthly fee for for the TV scheduling info (think electronic TV guide + software/firmware updates). If you rent a DVR from cox, there's no additional fee for the TV scheduling info (electronic TV Guide + software/firmware updates).

If you want TTC, the it will cost $x amount extra per month.

I hope I cleared that up. Sorry about that

No, I think I gotchya!

So, I tell Cox (and/or my landlord) that I would like TTC as well as a DVR cable box...and then I'm set? So, I should only have to pay the $$$ for TTC plus the $$$ to rent the box, correct?

Was it fun when most of them went in for a winner or an easy volley for you? Didn't hear you complaining, then again you do think your avatar looks of legal age.

Shcmad likes them looking young?

P.S. Shcmad thought this girl was too old ... then again he thinks he hits with moderate spin... go figure.

Youtube is down for maintenance at the moment.

If this is the drill where we make JRS run enough to make him sweat maple syrup.. then its been done.
