Hey- peeps who are on tennis one. I'm working on a paper for my computer supported collaboration class and I want to experiment with the captain tools. Do you mind if I add you to my team on tennis one so I can see how the interface works?

*Thanks Topaz

I think we started shopping for baby funiture as soon as we knew. We had most of the major stuff in place and ready about 2 months before she was born.

It doesn't hurt to get it out of the way early as there is a lot of stuff you have to deal with and assemble. One thing to consider is to hold off buying some smaller items until after the baby shower so you don't buy things that you get as gifts and save you a few trips to the store for returns.

If you get at least one thing early, get the car seat. As soon as you get the car seat, install it into your car. This will save you from trying to figure how to put it into the car at the hopital after being tired and sleep deprived. I'd put the crib as next on that list. Usually not fun to assemble.

My two cents....
my wife's got a month-by-month checklist similar to ... http://www.sghs.org/body.cfm?id=139

i think once we are far enough along and know the gender and after the baby shower (usually 2 month before due date) ... then we plan to get a majority of the stuff. the carseat is a good tip. also, though i don't use it thebump.com is a good resource i hear.

sap - i was stupid and tried to come back playing before i was healed. i set up a mixed match with the jjjosh'es on friday. there were a couple of shots were i had to go on a full sprint and i could feel pain in my knee but said screw it. when i woke up on saturday, i couldn't move. it felt like i had never taken any time off at all. so i'm back on the injured list. cause i'm stupid. no tennis for the next couple of weeks. at this rate, i'll be ready for our ladder match next summer.

I think my wife uses that checklist thingy... we aren't going to find out the gender though, I like surprises.

A lot of people are going that route and it seems like the stores have a good number of gender neutral stuff so you can prep before the big day.

zap - its just my right knee...for now. the orthopedic surgeon said it was patellar tendinitis. you should get yours checked out too.

dats - its never too late to go to the doctors. i would recommend you try to get some recommendations though. i went to an orthopedic surgeon and this dude seemed like he just walked off the street. he was in jeans and a tshirt. wtf... he didn't even have those white coats on. he said let me see your knee. he felt my knee cap and said you have patellar tendinitis. i say, "well what do i do?" he goes, "don't play tennis." and that was it. seriously. he said you might need to take months off. and like that, bam he charges my insurance $190 bucks. i saw him for 5 minutes tops. what a jerk.

so i see a foot doctor and he goes i'd like to put you on some custom orthotics. we like to think that if you have stability in your base, that it'll offer you relief as you move up through your knees and so on. so he molded my feet for some orthotics. i just picked them up this past monday so i can't really give you a detailed review of whether or not they work yet. but it might be worth a try if it keeps you from surgery. i'll let you know in a couple of weeks how the orthotics goes.
