Good hitting guys.
If you want, I can line up something for the second week of Jan (Monday or Tues) - but it will be night owl (10-11:30) and there will be guest fees. Let me know. D_C, I was wondering where you went. Maybe it was good I didn't know. <John Witherspoon> don't go in there for another 30 minutes</John Witherspoon>. Nice serving. You were blazing that serve with the "secret" k-blade. Tennismonkey - WHY!? WHY!?!?!? do you keep going back to Dunlops? You know what you are going to get - an average stick that doesn't do anything great but doesn't do anything that bad either. Dunlops are like the instant oatmeal of the racket world. Keep one O-Zone in your bag at all times. All other rackets are swapable. BTW- The MG PP's feel sweet with a full MT17 string job. Auzzie - Thanks for partnering up with me. It cracked me up when you were talking to yourself about footwork - I'm like footwork? What's that? As for the sticks. I don't think Babolat is your brand, plus it takes a while at adjust to any stick. Ugh - does anyone know where I can buy a backhand return of serve?

JRS, D_C still bombing that serve with those 19s huh? daaaayyyyymmmnn!
Agreed on the footwork...there's footwork in tennis? Can someone show me how that's done? As for me, do they sell forehand return of serves wherever they sell that backhand ros? Thanks! |

Also JRS, MT17 is so much nicer and softer than the 16 but doesn't last at all for me. Couple of hours???

I'm using string savers. With string savers, I can get about 13.5 hours out of a full set of MT17. Works for me.

Do you string lower tension to comepnstae for the savers? Have you noticed any differecen in feel with the string savers? Ive always been curious of those things but never tried them. I think it would help with my Bi-phase mains red code crosses set up last a tad longer.
Set something up on a weekend or somethig and ill try to get down to slug a few balls. Auzzie Ill even hit outside as long as I dont have to serve. My shoulder does not like serving in the cold.

Even with string savers, 13.5 hrs is really impressive for the MT17. I could see that with the 16 but 17? Wow, very nice indeed.

To me, the string savers do make it feel different especially if you have a lot of them in the bed. Those little plastic string savers lessen the feel a little and make the strings feel...plasticky??? lol

Keep in mind, you dont have to put them everywhere, you could even just put them in the places where you will know they will break. I tried dropping the tension a little, but I think I'm going to bring it back to my standard 55lbs. I've never been a string breaker.... go figure *shrugs*

BTW: Thought it was funny when, A.Y. stopped by the court, and saw the 7 frames on the court chair, and knew they were all mine...

BTW- I didn't hear much Tennismonkey giggling since he was hitting with his oatmeal sticks... He did catch me on the one DTL slice return. Too good...

auzzie -- sorry. i'm on vaca this week and i got stuck with a honey do list today. tomorrow or thurs works for me regarding ice bowl tennis. also made a trip to home depot. may play plastic surgeon with silicone.
jrs -- my giggling at others expense was not in full effect. had far more problems worrying about my own game or lack thereof. chris -- i'd like to clock your serve. don't know if you noticed but i was pretty much standing on the service line when you served. self preservation. |
