Thanks, HW. Didn't realize The Man passed on.

And for the reminder on the Preakness...for the past 10 years, the Angle household has thrown...you guessed it...a Preakness Party. Complete with Black-Eyed Susans that'll knock you on your *****. But this year, we decided to take a short sabbatical on the hoopla. We'll probably watch the race at home and I can enjoy it with my much preferred concoction of a Manhattan.

Your box on 9-5-11 is duly noted.

Been looking for day cares since the wife will be leaving NNMC soon. I found a place right near my building... go in and take a tour. It was very nice.

Request info on registration and tuition.

2k a month.

I can get Rio her own apartment for that money.

I think my sisters pay 127 a week foor the 3 year old and like 180 a week for the 1 year old.

The super yuppy expensive ones charge 350-400 a week up here for youngins.

Now you know why I stay home. And I had a good paying job, too. But the numbers just didn't make sense. Why should I work for pennies on the dollar to have all that stress and have someone else be responsible for my kids for the better part of their awake hours? Would the extra coupla hundreds bucks a month really make that big of a difference? Oh well, old argument and I know every family's situation is different. We were/are fortunate enough that we could trim some things, put some things off...and march on.

The rates down here, surprisingly, aren't that much different. Babies (<6mos) are in the $350/wk range but then it drops down into the $100s for older (and potty-trained) kids. Even more discounts for multiple kids. But you should see the penalty for being late. $10 a minute. Yep, a minute. But I can see where they're coming from. So many parents were taking advantage, daycare centers had to up the ante.

I tell myself everyday what I'm worth. Our bank account might not reflect it but my family does.

Good luck, JRK, finding a good spot. A good caregiver is a godsend. And they are not all that expensive.

2K a month is US sentor and company lobbyist day care. Unless you wanted to mingle with the most corrupt people in the world youre better leaving your kid with the homeless guy begging for change. He may even give you a cut of the profit

I have a friend who just dumps his kids off with his Mother in Law.

My other friend works at home and can I guess is bale to do work while he and his wife take care of the kids.

Like I said who knows what that looked like 10 years ago. Probably not that bad. Actually hopefully not that bad.

Not quite there. 5-11-1. Only the 9 horse couldn't pull through for ya.

Strange race. No real front runner. But The Shack takin' it from wire-to-wire.

Ho-hum....back to reality after a week in the OBX...got a lot of hitting in, and did some tweaking with the pro there.

I returned home to play in my USTA 4.0 league last night....was hanging in there and we were battling back and forth in the first set...'til I rolled my ankle. She ended up beating me 5-7, 1-6. My forehand was shot after that because I couldn't plant my front foot and swing through. At least it's not swollen bad today...thanks to ibuprofen and ice.

I comforted myself with some amazing Italian food from this great lil' place in Frederick....if anyone ever gets out there, try Nido's..hole in the wall but amazing food.
