True. Go Downs!

My 4.0 team finished fourth and then went down 2-3 in the first round of playoffs.

But I'll be at VA 3.5 districts, probably at MD 3.5 districts, and possibly mixed sectionals.

I'm tired just thinking about it!

AQ...no, I didn't make it down to Richmond with my VA mixed team. Looooong story, but I ended up playing MD districts that weekend instead. I had hoped to do both, but again...loooong story. Plus one of my partners on the VA team got bumped to 4.0 and my other partner couldn't make it. So I stuck with my MD partner!
Our team also went down in the first round of playoff. We ended up playing the only team from our group that we couldn't beat all season. Ask Tennis Monkey - our team finished as a group of walking wounded. Our normal #2 singles player was hurt, so I ended up playing #2. Lost 0-6, 6-4 and hit a short ball into the net at 8-9.

Anyway, working from home today so I'm watching the Wimby semis.

Wimbledon wrap-up....

Ok, I don't know where to start but the trip across the pond was all that and more. By some fluke, I was able to get Centre Court tix off of Ticketmaster UK for Friday the 24th..they release return tix 48 hours before the match. Then I had Court One Tix for Monday's round of 16..got to see some good matches, including Serena lose to Bartoli, Djokovic and Federer.

The cool thing was that I went around the the outlying courts..saw Djokovic practice...told him it was my birthday and he signed my program and gave me his wristband. Serena was warming up there too....got some great pics. Also got Andrea Petkovic's autograph.

The grounds there are extraordinarily beautiful..and the Pimms rocks..

I'll give out more deets later..suffering from jetlag at the moment.

In honor of my good bud Sup, never wear Adidas in public, except as sweat absorbers after a long match. Besides, these new duds look like Picasso either at the beginning or end of his Cubist period when he was changing his mind-altering substance of choice.

BTW, Sappy wanted me to answer your snarky emoticon with one of my own, something like "Hey, Dats, I heard you got a real job."

But remembering my upbringing as a true southern gentleman, I resisted.

Convoy to Memphis leaves Casa de Equis on August 14. Will miss you guys. *sniff*

Any of you dudes gonna buy the re-issue PS85s? 150 aint a bad price for em.

I would buy the Vacuum 90's first if it were me. Its too bad they put Pacific PJs on them though instead of the originals.

Joe Pesci is the man.

I met my sisters boyfriend when I was like 12 years old. I had the old school sweat pant on and a hoody. Its was like 40 degrees outside.

He told me I looked like the Super, I looked at him like a fool. He then brought the movie over and I understood what he meant. We had basically the same outfit.

My 4.0 team ended up that way. I know of at least four women on the team that had some kind of injury or another.

And same story on my MD team, where I was only supposed to play 5 matches. I'm up to 10...so far...season still isn't over!!! But two other singles players are injured/MIA.

I am scared... I've never had to deal with a Kareem serve before esp when paired with a Gamma overgrip
