Not to brag, but my USTA team clinched our league title earlier this week, so we will be going to Newport News in September. First time I've played USTA league tennis since 2008 (and a new knee), so I was pleased to get back into it. I started off slow, losing first two matches on tiebreaks, then switched partners and won the rest of my matches in straight sets.

Dinner tonight was a kick-butt stir-fry (sorry no pics...hubs was breathing down my neck to eat it...and there ain't any leftovers). I'm finally getting the hang of my own hoisin-ginger sauce. And rice...was perfectly cooked and just slightly sticky. Perfect for the little ones to try chopsticks with. Yippee.

I dont know much about Tangier Island, but from the sounds of it it might be similar to Smith Island MD. But Smith Island has its own cake. Does Tangier Island have it own cake? I dont mean to brag about MD but I doubt even if they do its any good

Me, I normally wear cheapie Avia Cross-trainers but haven't been able to find them in my usual off-brand stores. Have settled on some New Balance ones (622s are the flavor in the closet and on standby) but the current model probably is the 655. Like me & my racquet, old-school and nothing fancy.

Knocking madly on wood as I type, I've yet to turn my ankle on-court because of a shoe. But you can bet I won't be buying any Adidas any time soon. LOL

My Auunt walks like 5 miles twice a day with her dogs. She used to stricly wear Avia's. Then holler bird stopped carrying them. Im not sure what she uses now, but she cant find avias anymore.

Sorry, I meant the USTA facilities. But VA beach is pretty nice! My only memory of Newport is when we take trips to VA Beach and hit these stores called B'Low. Are they still there now?

I like how Holtby just crosses his arms and stares the guy down like and does not even flinch.

Caps got there work cut for them with trying to beat lundquist. Ottawa had many chances to score and lund just stoned them all in that 3rd period.
