Topaz, you are the only person I know that knows of the Quarterdeck. Everybody else has never heard of it... even my friends that live across the street from it.

I used to go there with teachers from my school, especially when we were temporarily being housed in Rosslyn. We went there a few times for 'end of the year' celebrations, too. We always sat outside, and once, when it started pouring when we were there...they had these curtains that they put down so we could still be outside but we were protected from the rain. Nice!

It would be a great 'after tennis' eating and drinking place!

I wish!!! Don't think I've gotten to watch any of the Euro 2012 games.

Jrs,

In my best wookie yelp, I just approved of having jerk chicken later today. Three Jamaican fellows across the bar were trying to explain to me why cricket is such a fun sport to watch. Fail imo. Then we got to good food and they described their jerk chicken recipe. Yum. What's your jerk chicken recipe? Any secret ingredients? Please don't say wookie hair strands jk

LOL!

I usually do Walker's woods jerk seasoning.

No. And bah! We got rained out. Some rather serious thunderstorms through this area, including a tornado in an area just south of here. We'll stay home...and watch the original Willy Wonka. Depp's version was just too dark for my teeny ones.

But on the foodie front, we had crocked-potted local ribs, with local corn and some homemade CI-recipe tabbouleh. Tomorrow night's agenda: another CI-recipe of Fideua (a Spanish shrimp/pasta dish). Better darn be good for the $15 in shrimp it's costing me.

Tried to cheat and buy a "triple" chocolate mousse cake from The Whole Foods down here. No comparison. None. Now I'm spoiled, dammit. But my own f-n cookin'.

Bought a bottle of wine to use for a chicken recipe but I only needed 1/4 cup. Drank the rest by myself and now I'm finding it increasingly difficult to shoot people on BF3. So now I'm just driving the Humvee around trying to run people over.
