hello macerz,

i finally entered the 2000s by buying a 60" plasma tv.
it seems 1 of the component inputs is farked. only shows B&W not color.
guess i can either call LG or return it.
dunno if i will use component input anyway though. my hdmi cords will be here saturday.
can't decide if i should buy antenna or deal w/ Directv. trying to figure out how to get both AAA and Costco discount is giving me a headache.

also i was stoked to play BF3 last night and was hoping i would be blasting people up. instead i was horrible. the giant tv has thrown my aim way off and now i can't shoot anybody. dunno why my aim is so off. should be so much easier but i suck now.

anyway, let me know if u guys have suggestions on wut to do with 1) component input 2) directv and 3) why i now sux at bf3

thanks you. bb

I always suck at fps games on big screens.. If I have to shift my gaze at all while playing, the screen is too big for me.

there's a breaking period for plasma.. think most games are a no no due to static image.

http://www.avsforum.com/t/949107/mas...osts-here-only

pack it up and give it back to costco..it's like going to the gym without paying any gym fees.

edit: p.s it's 127 pages.. read it all to arrive at the conclusion that it "MAY" not be necessary.. you are welcome.

I don't remember if I did the whole break-in period with my plasma TV. I think I went straight to killing noobs.

I stopped playing BF3, I was getting reported for cheating too much. 53-6 one match.

Now I just want to build stuff in Minecraft.

1. Don't know why you would want to use a component input on an HDTV, but if that input is dead out of the box, can't be good news for the rest of the components.

3. It might take you a while to adjust. I currently play on a 55" HDTV, never really had any problem, but you do have to sit far enough back so the whole screen is in your view at the same time.

spinning pile of meat.... must not look into spinning pile of meat.... duhhhhh....

Went there today. had a beard to beard (well mine's is really only a 5pm shadow) talk with Mr. Jannat on world affairs over his TV screen on CNN. After agreeing that the world is a eff'ed place right now, he cooked me up some delish gyro on his "spinning pile of meat.... duhhhhh"
Couldn't really say alot of about his Kubideh (ground sirloin). It was alittle too lean for me, thus texture was too fine for me. Had their chicken curry and chickpeas as sides. It was okay. The flavor is pretty good, would prefer a thicker curry. Their bread was kinda hard though. Spent like $22 on lunch today, but it was a great experience. I enjoyed talking to the big bearded gentleman alot.
btw, what's the spice they put over their bag of fries? It's black pepper, salt, and a mystery spice. It made it really tasty!
Sap: Let me know when you have time in the near future. We can meet at Smithsonian and i must bring you to Kabob Palace. You'll be blown away.

Free-ish... $300 install fee. But the price on the gigabit internet service is priced right. Hope all the cable companies are shaking in their boots.

plz don't make fun of my component and composite inputs. everything i own is from 1982!

starting the upgrade process is painful.
but im gonna upgrade upgrade (cue beyonce)

break in period. ohhhhh sheeeeeeet.

apparently there is only 1 a/v input so i just have to wait until my hdmi cables arrive and then toss out some of my lame tivos and dvd players.

im getting a little better at BF3 but i used the excuse to buy a 320gb harddrive so i can actually DL the HD graphics for BF3. yeah, that's the ticket! (cue SNL dood)

can't believe this thing works after shoving it in my tiny car. and then i carried it in and set it up by myself. the thing is huge and weighs a ton and is awkward as hel.l. but i was determined to set it up. like a honey badger.

ok peace out. gotta look up bluray players and other gadgets to make the man-cave saweeeeet

quick question for everyone here? are SSD weather and shockproof? Planning to build me a external hard drive. Saw a deal on newegg 240GB SSD (Kingston) for $170. Thinking about pulling trigger.
