Tennis Warehouse-Mid Atlantic Chapter

OMG, we told our 3.5 year old son who has been peeing in the potty for months, this is the last time we would give him a poopy diaper tonight. He started walking around and somehow our kitchen tile was just turning brown. It was all over the floor, his legs, feet etc. I had to give him a 2nd bath. We were so pissed. He can hold it for a week, I don't care. Next time, it is going in the bowl.

so... the Dats is totally out of shape and needs to get some other kind of exercise.
~~~~start long story of yadayada...sorry!~~~~
the Dats gets a call from a neighbor to show up at the basketball courts so i pull my socks up way high... strap on some Yonex shoes.. and head out.
I was terrible. Couldn't shoot at all... you know the guy thats so bad they don't even bother guarding you anymore. Yep, that was me.
I of course was given the 6'4" legit jumping young guy to guard and I did a decent job on him until somebody would shoot and he would jump and tip it in before i even left the court. But he didnt score too much when i just guarded him and i knocked the ball away a lot.
So... it was fun full court ballin and I was gettin an incredible workout.
Then, the guy I showed up with (who is 6ft and 225lbs and very awkward on the court... he is all elbows and shoves and half the time picked me while im trying to guard my guy or would just leave his man all alone under the basket to come double team somebody out top) gets in an argument with one of our opponents. We had a mixture of chinese gangsters (all kind of chubby and smoking cigarettes between games but despite their height disadvantage they were pretty good at getting buckets even down low...)
and some black guys that were younger and taller than everyone else.
Well my neighbor gets into it with this chinese guy who said he kept fouling him and i actually thought they might start punchin any moment.
All of a sudden, another chinese dood comes runnin across the court with a cigarette in his left hand and ran up behind my neighbor and tried to sucker punch him in the side of the head. Dunno when I actually did it, but at the last second i saw him and just shoved him as he was in full on "Kermit Washington vs Rudy Tomjonavich" mode.
He still got off a decent punch but i threw him off balance and messed up his tko. Then there was a bunch of yelling and people holding people back... etc. Meanwhile the black doods were just ready to keep playing.
A couple guys looked like they wanted to fight me and told them I wasn't going to let anyone suckerpunch anybody and basically called that dood a biyatch. He then tried to say he was coming at my neighbor straight on which even if it was true is bizarre cuz he wasn't involved at all.

anyway i was hoping to come out there every Monday but i don't think its worth it to deal with that kind of stuff.

one of the only shots i made was a bizarre hook shot from the foul line and its never good when the other team spends 5 minutes joking and calling me Dan Majerle. But I wish I played like Thunder Dan. But I used to be able to play. I thought they were gonna say Kurt Rambis though... so I guess Ill take it as a compliment even though they were totally mocking me.

Im wiped now though...

gangsta!!!! thats crazy. basketball was my firsst sport and i played in the streets but nothing this crazy happened. at least not on court

Haha Dats that story brings back crazy memories of bball playing at Jefferson Park back in the mid 90's. So much fun but also tons of craziness like that. I wasn't there at the time but my homies said a couple dudes pulled a couple of 9mms onto the court cuz of some argument. SMH!

Best days to run back then were Saturday and Sunday mornings. Everyone knew all the regulars there and there were always 3-4 teams waiting for next game. If your team wasn't any good, you'd only get a game in and go home cuz waiting for another game was gonna take forever. We'd come with a stacked team and win at least a few games. Lotsa good memories!!! Can't play worth ***** now... Haha

i am very pleased that no glocks were pulled over this cuz the basketball was pretty terrible. but i am pretty sure there was at least 1 gun in their cars.
my neighbor invited another guy there too.. and it was pretty funny how he stayed completely out of it. turned invisible. i didnt want to get killed but i couldnt let my buddy get jacked up.
neighbor owes me a 12pack of beer im pretty sure. ill have to consult the "bro code"
i was gassed after 1 game and was actually trying to hide but i got picked up to keep playing.

p.s. - i have a secret Salvadoran-mexican restaurant.. its mainly tacos and enchiladas but they have some other stuff too. but why bother.... the freekin chicken tacos and beef enchiladas are CRAZY good. but i've never told anybody about it and the only non-latino i saw in there today just ordered a cup of ice and left. it is highly authentic as judged by the clientele and they pretty much demand you order corona with your food.

i will NEVER divulge where it is, but if we do a TWMAC meet around here sometime... i MIGHT be willing to take the participants for the ultimate food-fest.
tacos are like $1.65 too and enchiladas are $3.50 for 2!
and for some reason the Coke i had here was the best EVER. they use
crushed ice...dunno.. but it was awesome. refills are a $1 tho.. grrrrr
ok... im not telling u where this joint is... its all mine. mUHAHAHAHA

Has anyone eaten baby food on the tennis court? It's my new thing. Helped me play 5 singles matches at sectionals in 3 days! Team was one match away from nationals. Soo close!

wow... looks like we could of used JRK's MMA services in this incident.

I thought I was a ramen snob. I like Shin, Nissin (Tonkatsu, Curry, and XO Sauce), and Mama Brand Thai Instant Noodles (although i need to have at least 2 for a snack).

I'll try making the ramen noodles. I got the noodle attachment bonus when I got my kitchenaid like 10 years back (still haven't opened the attachment yet, although my kitchenaid is used all the time) Always scared on how much of the Sodium Bicarbonate to use. Heard if you eat too much of that stuff, it causes kidney stones and some effect that warns we should call our doctors if it lasts more than 4 hours. I've always added neck and back bones. But didn't know we needed trotters as well for the broth. Great find!

the closest thing I had was them squeezable apple sauces. Baby food tasted really bland. At least it'll digest easier unlike the buffalo inferno dip.

hey zap, do you play at Sligo Creek tennis courts? If so, is it still lighted? I think it's right off of Dennis Ave? We used to practice there because my middle school was right up the street. I used to play there so much, I remembered it was dangerous playing during fall because of the wet leaves on the ground. I remembered we had to literally kick off a group of seniors that always play there. For some reason, these gentlemen lost a sense of time once they step on the courts.

I remeber the lasttime I played basketball I was also terrible. I used have great hands and incredible touch around the rim. I could finish with thebest of them, get a bunch of and-1's, all that jazz.

But last time I played, I had passes bouncing off my hands. My hook shot was gone and I was brikin layups.


But I could still hit jumpers and rebound. I was thinking the other day about gettin a run in HdG. I saw all the brothers out there playin adn almost stopped hitting against the wall to geta quick run in. But now I gotta let my hair grow out and channle my inner Mankind.

Stick with tennis, dood. Then all you have to worry about are shirtless old guys at Pentagon courts, and JRK can take care of all of them with one hand while serving bombs with the other.
