Ok. All my old haunts as a kid. What college did/do you attend?

I used to hit at Aspen Hill and as a youngin hustled old men for money at Wheaton Regional.

If anyone wants to hit let me know. I moved back to the area after being away for about 10 years. I played in high school (in Maryland) then went off to Hawaii and now I'm back.

I live near Shirlington but I'll play anywhere if it's relatively close by.

I've played at Pentagon City and Quincy Park (Ballston), but more often than not, if I'm outside, I'm at Wakefield or sometimes Jefferson District Park. Indoors at Skyline. I've actually never played in Maryland...which is odd considering how close it is.

Default Don't read this if you care about the Gulbis/Robredo match! If not, carry on...

Like Topaz said, just because I haven't played with you doesn't mean I don't play tennis. Maybe if you didn't suggest meets on holidays (Father's day, Labor Day, come on I have places to go, people to see, things to do!). Secondly, read the fine print man I won't be drinking beer. And third, I'm not too into being ogled over the internet, so I'll pass on the picture but I assure you, I'm petite and fit and probably could stand to gain 5 lbs.

This is off topic, back the important stuff...

Damn straight I'm happy. My boy spanked Tommy, 61 63 62 check out the stats. Are you going to jump on the bandwagon now, I'm the driver you know!

Hey SchMad I have an idea for you, how about you post a picture in the Ladies thread and see the responses.

I have yet to see 'your boy' play on TV or in person, but it's no easy task to spank Robredo, so it must have been a good confidence-booster for him.

Anyways, that is one random suggestion you made! I don't know if I'll comply with it because you ladies are always so harsh in judging guys.

hahaha thats awesome... yea those old guys are still there at Wheaton Regional. They just sit around having a smoke telling stories and heckling all the newcomers who come to hit at that park

I played for 2 years at Quinnipiac University up in CT. Not really known for tennis in the D1 ranks when I was there but they've gotten much much better in the last few years.

Hey JRK, where in Hawaii did you move to? Did you go to school out there?

Those guys paid out well. Im sure most are still kicking. I would love to go back and see if they recognize me. One guy i dont want to see again is "Crazy Charlie" . Is he still around? That guy gave me the creeps as a kid.

I may start hitting at cabin john sunday mornings. You interested in hitting?

I was so glad they televised Moya/Gulbis today, even though he played nothing like he did against Robredo (so many unforced errors ). According to Jim Courier, even Tommy was in total disbelief at how amazing he played on Sunday, so it's understandable that he couldn't keep it up. At least he gets experience and exposure out of this.

I shouldn't post after 11:30 because I get kind of loopy and don't think my posts through very well, lol. Anyways, you know that's not true! Even though I haven't been in that thread in a while, all the ladies who post in there are super nice and accepting of all guys. I've seen much harsher words on Mirka and other female players than anything in that thread. The worse they could say is that Mr. Gulbis looks to be about 14.

Way back when I had a lot of time on my hands from not doing my home work, I happened to watch a livestream of him playing against Ancic in St. Petersburg. I was pretty impressed and looked him up immediately. Funny thing is, I predicted he would be top 50 by the end of this year and I was starting to get a bit disappointed by his results lately, but now it seems he'll be ranked right outside at #54! Definitely look out for him some more once the indoor tourneys start, he might even win a title! Sigh, if only sports betting were legal in the US, I'd probably be about 100 bucks richer.

My thoughts from the Moya/Kohlschrieber matc were if Kohlschreiber won Gulbis would be in the QF's but if Moya won, he wouldn't. Moya has really been fighting lately and playing incredibly and I don't really mind that he won. It's ok that you couldn't find Gulbis, hopefully he'll play in DC next year!
