ooh. yes sup. i indeed want to hit tomorrow evening. anytime after say 6:00 and up til the wee hours of the morning sound good. especially if it saves me from going to the tennis social alone. PPL bailed, hollywood has bowling, raiden is a no go, and my old coworker is staying inside and warm.

just had a thought too. since our boy PP serves so hard. does that mean he has a modicum of skill and talent because he ain't no 6 foot 4. and that means too that if he improved said talent and skill -- what do you think his ceiling would be?

nadal does look awesome.. and those courts are perfect for his game.
(even my serve might kick up on those courts!)
somebody (like Tsonga or Cilic) is going to have to overpower him with 33aces and 105mph flat forehands or else he is going to walk away with the trophy.
(can i change my racquet bracket???)

In Nadal's first match, I felt that although he was flattening out his shots more, he didn't seem as reliable (go figure). Plus mixing in the different shots seemed to disrupt the rhythm on his dependable topspin. I wonder how often he will use the flat shots if he has to play Murray or Fed in tight match situations. I do think this will all benefit him in the long run, having more (and even bigger) weapons/options. Its weird to see a number 1 player make so many changes in such a short span of time.

Its terrible. At this rate we may never see another Goran. I think we need diferent surafces so we can see different styles of play. Whats wrong with Diversity in Sports. It makes for intersting matchups. Just like the superbowl this year.

but I guess the people dont like watching Goran at 6'4" 180 blasting upwards of 30+ aces a match on some superfast carpet anymore.

that is true. it's possible he can flatten out his forehand against lesser opponents but it may be far tougher against quality opponents. who is nadal's first challenge? anyone take a look at the brackets?

I'll email you today. Will you need a racquet as well?

PP is like 6'3.. probably grown to 6'4 by now. That said, I honestly started really thinking. PP serves hard, double faults and is having problems with groundies. Basically he is hitting the net.

Then it struck me. He should be a hockey player. Get paid to hit the back of the net for a living! Like milan here.

I think I have a mutation that took my extra height and added them onto my feet (size 13's).

Actually my youngest bro is a pretty big dude, 6'4" around 240lbs. Me and my middle bro are about the same height. My dad was about 6'1" but my mom is kinda short, so I figure I didn't make out too bad.

Oh, and the nike shorts aren't that short in case you haven't noticed.....

I just looked and his draw is crazy! Haas in the next round- who seems to be playing well and typically does well in Australia. Then the round after that Gasquet or Gonzalez (who beat him two years ago here). And if assuming he gets through those he could face Monfils (who beat him last week) or Simon (who beat him at the end of last year). Tough draw, but he is more than capable of getting through.

Shoot, both my brothers are around 6'3"/6'4". ahh the serving possibilities from that height...

Then I went to a Caps game. Front row seats, 10 seats to the left of the Cap's bench. I saw first hand that (a) these guys are fast, and (b) they're all 6' something, 200+ lbs. I quickly realized had I tried to play professional hockey, I would be dead by now...

Yeah.... it's just not fair. How's the serve with the HPS???? You were hitting some nice ones when you tried out my PDRs.

---

I think Nadal blows though Haas, unless Haas plays the game of his life.

NAdal vs. Gonzo - holy forehand!!!! That should be a good one. Gonzo will have to be perfect to beat Nadal at the AO though. I think Gasquet would just fold up into a ball pre-match if he has to play Rafa.

Rafa, Monfills could be fun to watch, but I'm going to go with Nadal in a Grand Slam.

Simon? I think a fairly fresh Rafa has him beat.

I will not be surprised to see him get through, however, everyone in his immediate quarter has a good (recent) history with Nadal. And then of course Big Guns Murray may be waiting in the semis

Well, you saw my brother... same height as me. My dad was only like 6 maybe 6'1". My mom is like 3 feet tall. My sister is about 5'10" I think.

I remember my great-grandpa (from my mother's side) being like 6'. That's pretty damn tall for a Filipino dude.

no one on my mom's side is tall, a couple somewhat tall cousins, but nothing like my brother's. I think her side of the family look like little people sometimes.

Default Thursday Tennic Clinic guys

Guys,

Tonights lineup: TheJRK, Vitaly, Magma, JRS

I was wondering if you guys wanted to hold a video session tonight during the last 30 minutes. Groundies, serves, volleys. Then I can post the videos online and we can discuss or discuss in a group (lobby) right after.

Let me know, otherwise the last 30 minutes will be a game of 30. Like king of the hill but with points instead .....and SERVES!

See you guys tonight.

p.s. majority rules in this decision.

I say we do the vids and do 30 another time. Both are tempting though.

Treat Huey was at the Turkey Bowl? How could I have missed it?
