NTRP ratings don't just look at how fast and hard you can hit the ball, it incorporates your entire game. Simply put, if you can beat someone with a higher rating than you, regardless of how you play, your ratings will go up. It doesn't matter if you lob every single shot or slice every single backhand, if it gets to your opponent and you can score points that way, then you'll end up being the winner and a better player.

Most videos posted on these forums are usually just warm-ups for rallies. Honestly, you can only tell so much from rallies. During an actual match, some people may perform better and some may perform worse. You also cannot see point constructions during these rallies.

Exactly. And I can attest (from personal experience on the other side of the net!) that Tony hits with PLENTY of pace, spin, depth, and CONSISTENCY!! BHBH

Congrats on winning another tournament Tony! 22 singles wins in a row, and a win in one of the tournaments you were really aiming for this year. I think you need to venture out just a little bit further if you can next year if you improve a little more. Maybe Missouri, Michigan, Illinois, Ohio, etc? Find a couple tourneys that offer up $2000+ for the winner and get in a couple futures...I know it's not your dream to make it on the ATP tour, but if you do get even better next year you might have to reconsider trying for a run.

Yeah Tony, play the futures in joplin missouri next year! I''m confident you could win matches there.

I was talking to some people that saw you at Asfora and alot of them said you could be VERY VERY good if you had a bigger serve. One said you could be in the top 250 if you had a serve of 115+.

Thanks Sherlock! Everything was awesome and could not have gone better! It is a bit sad that it is all over after so much planning went into it, and it went by incredibly fast that day. It is a once in a lifetime event that is now in the past forever. But it was amazing and so fun to have so many of my family and friends all at the same place to celebrate our special day. Im a married man now and my life is truly blessed. I will see you tomorrow!

Nice tournament TonLars (and its especially sweet when the trophy comes with a check!). I'm surprised the draw was that small this year (for some reason I thought it was bigger last year), but there were some quality guys in there. Looks like you cruised through without a lot of problems. I was actually planning to play that one, but ended up getting injured and had to take time off. Too bad because I probably would have enjoyed getting destroyed by you if we played. haha.

Hey Tony, good luck at the Manitoba Open. A former junior from my province is seeded 3rd. He was the #2 ranked open player for our province the past several years (possibly #1 now that our other top junior has retired from tennis) whom I've had the pleasure of hitting with a few times. If you guys meet in the final, I'm totally watching!
