I have sat here and watched people say what roger uses as his racket. All I have to say and I know this for a fact is that Roger did use a stock tour 90 from april 2003 till the end of the french open 2003.
I know for a fact and here is a place you can check pictures.
The handle is the same length and holes are drilled the same
It was a stock tour 90

You might be right. It realy does look like the real tour 90 with the grip up that high and the 5 strings in the PWS.

Well, perhaps that's why he only started winning Grand Slams (starting with Wimbledon 2003), after he switched from the stock Tour 90 to his custom PS 6.0 90.

I don't know about the racquet, but this caption from the pic of him in the Z4 on the same page caught my eye...

Caption:
MUNICH, GERMANY - MAY 4: Roger Federer of Switzerland with the BMW Z4 for winning final match against Roger Federer of Switzerland in the BMW Open by Credit Swiss on May 4, 2003 held at Iphitos, Munich, Germany. (Photo by Stuart Franklin/Getty images)

I knew he was good, but good enough to win against himself? hehe

Would have to agree as you can see the lead in the y of the throat which would seem to suggest it was stock that he was modifying. String pattern and grip look standard too. Good spot I reckon.
