My regular partner has really really wicked backhand drop shots. His backhand underspin shots barely come over the net and stay very low with almost no bouncing. One time, the ball he hit returned to his court, even though I did not touch it. I asked him how he can hit such a dropshot and he explained that he is using the semi-western forehand grip for his backhand dropshots. Is it normal to use such a grip, or is it his invention?
