Golf Digest lists the 100 best golfers out of all the non-golf professional athletes.

No. 1 is former pitcher Rick Rhoden. He's currently on the senior golf tour, but he's not doing too well on it.

There were quite a tennis players listed. highest was Pete Sampras at #21. Michael Chang was #38. Jim Courier was somewhere in the 60s I think.

Yhe following players were also somewhere on the list:

Navratilova, Lendl, Federrer

He didn't make the list but Boris Becker is the lead picture for the article and he's a 7 handicap.

My friend belongs to the same private club as Michael Chang. Chang is a good golfer but probably a little optimistic about his handicap.

Nadal suppose to be very good. I've seen pictures of him on the golf course.

Yes, Pete's got game. He's been on TV playing the Pebble Beach Pro Am.

Lendl is a golf nut and a good golfer. But his game is as good as his tennis on Wimbledon. However, he's building a golf dynasty because both of his daughter are amateur champions with potentials to turn pro.

Lots of hockey players are good golfers. Mario Lemieux and Danny Quinn are scratch... if not lower. A slapshot is similar to a golf swing i guess.

Basketball legend Rick Barry came in 2nd in the finals of the annual long drive championship.

He became a tennis professional in 1993, reaching a career high rank of 42 in the ATP Singles during October 1998. Prior to this, he was ranked No. 5 in the junior double rankings (1992), after winning the Wimbledon Junior Doubles title. He played doubles with his brother, Mark Draper, reaching a high rank of 132.

In 2005, he won the Australian Open Mixed Doubles title with fellow Australian Samantha Stosur, defeating Kevin Ullyett and Liezel Huber in the final. He is now currently serving as Lleyton Hewitt's new interim Coach.

It depends on how you interpret the topic. Draper was a professional tennis player so at the very least should have been top spot while he was still a tennis player.

But the post quotes

If he's on the senior golf tour, he must be a professional because he ain't doin it for free. So if the pitcher is on the list, logically, so is Draper.

Errr, Lendl is an excellent golfer, but why, oh why, do people insist on paying out Lendl's abilities at Wimbledon? All because he openly admitted how hard he tried.

If he had won nothing else, he would be looked at as one of the best grass-court players of the late 80s / early 90s.

Lendl's grass-court highlights: 2 Wimbledon Finals, 1 AO Grass Final, 3 Wimbledon Semi-Finals and a Queens Title (beating Becker in straight sets).

NHL Hall of Famer Grant Fuhr has won an event on the Celebrity tour. Two best tennis player/golfers by far have to be Scott Draper and Ellsworth Vines.

Frank Conner played doubles at the US Open and then played a number of years on the PGA tour. He was probably too marginal a tennis player to be considered.

Yup - I agree. There's a few players now that must go to sleep each night knowing that they will never earn the respect they'd otherwise get because of some guy named Federer. Roddick is an excellent player, as is Hewitt for that matter, and if Fed had been hit by a bus at 20, I personally think we'd have watched a great battle between those two over the last few years on the non-clay surfaces.....

some of the australian cricket team are very good golfers. Captain Ricky ponting is the best one, he could have chosen to be a pro golfer instead of a cricketer.
