I will most definitely get it on tape. I'm not playing tomorrow until 11:00 a.m., and his match is at 8:00 a.m. I'm pretty sure it'll be over by then...

I'm going to tape it, break it down into segments, and post it on here. I'm not sure how this is going to turn out. I told the local pro about Austin, and he thought, OH My...he said he didn't know and doesn't know some of the people entering into the open events sometimes. He said it's going to be bad...and kind of laughed a little (while shaking his head). Patrick is so freakin awesome when he plays. He hits with just unbelievable pace and so much variation. It really is fun to watch him play someone at the same level...although, there usually isn't anyone at his level.

I'll quit talking about it, and get the video. It's going to be fun.

Keep in mind, I'm getting up at 6:30 a.m. to drive an hour to the courts, just to tape this for you guys (and for myself of course). And, I don't play until 11:00 a.m. So, if I lose my match, I'm blaming it on not getting enough sleep...lol. I have to have my list of excuses

Haha, that's funny. I will have it on tape. I'll try to have the videos posted tomorrow night.

Do you guys know the MB limits on youtube. If one video is 100 meg and achieve the limit, can you post more videos. Is the limit usually just limited to one video, or your entire collection on youtube.

Let me know if that doesn't make sense...lol.

i agree please put the file on a file upload site like megaupload, rapidshare... because you tube has a pathetic 1995 era 320x240 resolution and you cant see squat clearly (the ball for example...).

I will be supportive of Austin. I hope he does really well, but at the same time, I would hate it (if i was Patrick) if I had to play someone like this (heck, I hate it now when he asks me to hit). That being said, I will try and endure the embarrassing match and video tape it. I hope I'm not sounding mean. I mean, I really want him to succeed at tennis. It's just that I hate the fact that he pays money to get into a tournament, drive over 2 hours to get there, play a pro, drive all the way back home and then tell me that he could have done better had he got his backhand in more...I just hate it! I'm sorry.

Maybe he's only going for the Cheeseburger, bag of chips, and the soda you get when you pay your entry fee??? That's always a good incentive for me.

Well, I think maybe I've beaten him down mentally as well. Bad on my part. But, I'm really trying to make him understand that you can't start playing tennis and immediately jump to the 5.0+ level. It's just not possible. He doesn't want to pay his dues, he can't afford lessons, he doesn't have the form (not even close), and simply doesn't have the mental grasp of the game......yet. He tells me he doesn't have extra time to play in the lower events...and if I tell him that it would be nice if he entered into a 3.0 or even 3.5 event, he blows it off as an insult. As if he's lowering himself to a level of the total amateur. I then challenged him, that if he could win a match at the 3.0 level, then I'd buy him dinner anywhere he'd like. Doesn't matter the cost, fancyness or anything. Then, he enters the Open of this event! I really think he has a mental problem...I'm sorry to say. He's nice as can be, but totally out of his mind. If he can't realize what he's doing, then I'm going to just let him do it and get the video. I'll also show him the video, so maybe he can see the subtle differences...lol. If he dares tell me that had he gotten his first serve in more, or had gotten his backhand in more that he could have given him a game, I'm going to let him have it. I'm not one to sugar coat things and tell someone their something their not. His best friends won't tell him, but I will. That's how it see it.
it's called a friend with too much ego. I think everyone has to put up with one sometime.

Maybe he used a different name to protect his identity. Or his friend got booted.

Uh Steven Wilkes lost in an open tournament May 25; 6-0, 6-0 so it is probably the same guy.

Lesson: If you want to be anonymous don't use opponents real names

I am going to say Austin is his middle name, and everyone calls him Austin.

If I am right all of you owe me a beer!

His name is Steven A. Wilkes, Austin is what everyone calls him...sorry to whomever owes J011yroger a beer!

The match is over. I did get it on tape. All but about the last 2 games. I got to talking to someone and just went ahead and quit taping. It was the same old stuff.

I do have to admit, Austin didn't do as poorly as I anticipated, but you could tell he was about a 3.0 to a week 3.5. But, the poor guy played his heart out...lol. After the match, he told me that he would enter the next tourney in the 3.0's.

By the way, Patrick Walker played about 40 to 50%. He basically served second serves the whole time and wasn't motivated. You could see the disgust on his face the second austin hit the first ball in the warmups...lol...it was funny. Austin did manage to get a few points here and there, but they were errors on Patrick, and believe me, they were few and far.

I'll post the vids tonight. I just got back and am headed to the races. I'm really sorry. I'll definitely have them posted tonight. I hope the video is good for you guys.
