Default Hitting Lane Workout

At a tennis club, I recently joined, they have hitting lanes. Briefly, there are 3 lanes on the court, so each lane is about a 1/3 of the court separated by nets. There is a ball machine. How effective would these be? Are there any suggested routines for it? My 2 handed backhand blows, so I was thinking I might try to learn how to hit a lefty forehand???? Also is this better or worse than using a wall? I recently purchased the AP Belt as well. Not sure if hitting lane will help with that. And what kind of drills would you recommend.

My personal opinion. Use it or junk it.

AP belt is useless. I was about to buy it when i tried it from a friend for 3 sessions. I thought i would save me some money by "Safely" ignoring it.

Lefthand forehand is a viable option. So is a 2hbh. I was a 1hbh for 3+ yrs when i decided it isnt working and switched to a 2hbh about 1 month ago. I love 2hbh and i am improving every match. The # of winners i hit with my 2hbh is astonishing.

I would think using the Hittinglane is slightly more effective than wall.

Learning a lefty forehand really helps your 2 hander. I broke my wrist so most of my muscles in my left arm were gone, so I decided to learn a lefty forehand to strengthen it and improve my then mediocre backhand.

For the past week, I've played my sister, whom I normally bagel, with a lefty forehand. After finishing that session, I would play later with a 2 hander, and it feels so much better and much improved. There is more spin, net clearance, and depth, along with a little extra oomph.

One use of the 3 "lanes"would be in practicing return of serve. Practice returning to each ot the lanes in rotation-- forehand and backhand.

Practice placements in singles ralleys. make it a rule that whatever lane you hit to, you have to hit there at least twice before hitting to another lane. Think of your own variations.
