what heat gun to get

yes i know i can use the stove, or a hair dryer but i want to do it right
so is this ok

Basically, any heat gun will work on heatshrink tubing.

Doing it right doesn't require a heat gun. Putting on a heat shrink sleeve is ridiculously easy even with a hair dryer, I really can't see how anyone can mess it up.

It's more or less a glorified hair dryer.

You turn it on, you may be able to select the fan speed (how hard it blows), and you may be able to adjust the temperature.

Otherwise, you operate it in the same way.

I'm not trying to dissuade you by any means. I own a heat gun and think it's a great tool. However, learning how to use it on the fly isn't exactly difficult. It's a good investment IF you plan on using it. If you are shooting for MRT status, I assume you will probably get a fair amount of usage out of it.
