Since you are talking about the generic Gosen, Sweet is head and shoulders better (unless you want a stiffer, deader string). Whether it's worth $20 more per reel is up to you...

Sweet is a bit too springy.I prefer og micro to make the stringbed firmer.
Btw,I only use those in the hybrid as cross. |

People just want to buy the cheaper reel. I'm trying Sweet 17 now and it's definitely better than sheep micro.

I believe the two are slightly different and both come in at least 2 gauges, so the answer might be quite different depending on the racquet, tension and eventually the other part of the hybrid.

The non-generic Gosen is a much nicer string to me than the Forten. Forten feels really good when it's fresh, but it seems to get really springy really fast, where the Gosen seems to last a while longer before it starts to feel like I'm losing control with it.

I prefer gosen OG micro as well for stiff racquets. If I use the micro as a cross string, it gives a better feel than the forten. however, if you don't care about string playability, go with forten, its more cheaper.

The "generic" is called "Gosen OG Micro" on TW, and costs $30 for 660' reels.
The "non-generic" is called "Gosen OG-Sheep Micro" on TW, and costs $3.79 per set or $35 for 330' reels. IMO, they are different strings. But do a search and see for yourself, this has been discussed ad nauseam. EDIT: Sweet is still better than either of the two Gosen Micro strings. Last edited by meh : 08-22-2007 at 04:30 PM. |
