Ok, here goes. I have been looking at shoes for a month on here and trying to decide which way to go. Currently I have the following shoes:
Diadora Speedzone Adidas Barricade 2 Nike Breathe Free II Prince T10 Adidas Clima Feather II My question is this: I find the Diadora and the Clima feather a little too low to the ground The Prince T10's feel like rocks under my feet and have made my hips hurt on hard courts The Breathe Free 2's are the most comfy of the bunch but wear out WAY too fast The B2's may be the option I go with as they lasted well and are decent comfort I am mainly curious if anyone has found a shoe that doesn't have the low to the ground feeling, has good comfort (doesn't feel like rocks if you know what I mean?) I am thinking of going with possibly B1's or B4's or have even considered some Asics on here. I love the fit of the Diadora though and was wondering if some of the other Diadora shoes are a little softer? |

have you tried the scholl's 3/4 insert? i've got some T9's (insole has compressed a lot) that have the scholl in them and they feel great.

All i can tell you is that the B2's are darn comfy shoes
I did want to ask you about the Speedzones. How do those compare to the B2's? i love the B2's but starting to get board, thought I might try something else that might be close. I don't mind the close-to-the-gound feeling, if that's the only problem. |

I found the Resolve Pluses to be very well cushioned (both heel and forefoot) and surprisingly stable.

The Barricade 2's are a completely different type of shoe from the Speedzone. The Speedzone has ended up being my go to shoe for playing on Rubico. The fit is glovelike, even more so than the B2's. The sole has been very dependable. If I could find a Speedzone that had more cushioning I would then have my hard court shoe. That is why I was asking about the other Diadora shoes as well. I wear a 13 in Adidas btw and have found the 12.5 Speedzone perfect.

i don't think there is any diadora shoe that is really cushiony. they feel ok at the start but the cushioning goes pretty quickly and your joints will feel it - especially on hard courts

as for the OP's question....you've probably found shoes to feel hard because that's the nature of tennis shoes. they're not like basketball shoes which are plush and feel like cushions on your feet....this kind of cushioning causes the shoe to feel mushy on the tennis courts. tennis shoes in general are firmer because they feel more responsive on the courts. with that being said, i think you might like the breathe 3s. they're slightly higher off the ground than the BF2s and have better cushioning in my experience. i found the BF2s cushioning to flatten out on the forefoot and had the max air bubble pop both times. my 2 pairs of breathe 3s haven't had this problem and the cushioning is still firm and responsive. as for comfort, i prefer the breathe 3s, since they have a way thicker tongue and a better padded toe...i found the toe area on the bf2s to be too thin and sometimes uncomfortable on toe drags...but i havent had an issue with the breathe 3s... |
