Thumbs down Be careful dealing with kirbster123

I put a lot of thought into this and this was not easy, but I wanted to warn some of you to be careful when dealing with him. There are 2 reasons:

1. On August 27 Kirbster123 and I agreed to a string trade. I checked his refrences on TW and he had none, so I originally asked him to send string first and I would send mine to him. He then gave me his E B A Y username and he did have 100% feedback, but his account was suspended (??). He gave me some excuse he did not pay e...y fees because he was on vacation. I figured he did have 31 feedbacks, so I went ahead with the trade.

We agreed we would send the next day (Tue Aug 2. I went to the PO the next day only to have it closed due to lunch..small PO. I went again on Thu but was a little late (closed)...finally I sent the string on Aug 31. I received a receipt to show I sent a package to Canada (his city and zip code). I sent first class mail. I contacted him 9/5 to let him know I sent a few days earlier.

I sent him another email on Sep 10 letting him know I still did not get the strings from him (approx 14 days after he was supposed to send them). This is what he wrote:

Kirby Mendes to me
show details Sep 10

Hey,

yea this seems pretty slow. Suprised none of us have recieved it yet, let me
know when it arrives.

Thanks.

So this email tells me he already sent them.

On Sep 17 I received the strings from Kirby...right away I noticed he sent them Sep 13. According to his 9/10 email they were already sent. I was annoyed and figured he waited to get my string before he sent his....JERK move. I conacted him and he stated that he mailed it out the next day and either put the wrong adress and/or he put his first name with my last name. So the Canadian post sent the package back to him. I felt his excuse was poor. I sent him a picture of the receipt to prove to him I sent my strings to him. I still believe he got them and sent his to me after he got his. I have over 200 feedbacks and have never had any issues with selling items. So I was about to let things slide until this....

2. I decided to string 2 racquets Saturday night. I traded 3 sets of Kirschbaum strings for 4 sets of Wilson Sensation. Kirby said he had a reel of it and I asked him to cut them in 20 feet (8 total sets) since it would be easier for me to string 2 piece. Anyway I took 2 sets (supposed to be 20 feet each) and both ended up being 18 feet. This guy sent me 18 foot string sets instead of the 20. Its a good thing I play with KF 90's or the strings would be useless to me (I had the intention of putting Sensation on the mains) if I had a larger head size.

So, in closing, be wary of trading with him. Require him to send you his stuff first. To his credit he did send strings, but he lied a few times about the transaction and he may still claim that he never got the strings I sent. I have a receipt and never had any issues with sales or trades. It was quite a coincidence that he sent his strings to me 14 days after I sent mine and he claims he did not get them. He was apologetic, but too many inconsistencies. I will never deal with him again. I have all emails to prove my story.

well, at the end of the day you got the strings and it happens you were able to use them. minor irritation if you ask me (although i know it doesn't feel like it at the time).

some people just aren't as punctual as you are. it's frustrating but it seemed to work out in the end.

That is why I struggled to write this thread, but figured people should know if you are going to trade with him than he should send items first and send yours upon proper inspection. It was more than punctuality...he waited 2 weeks and sent 18 foot strings instead of 20...that is more than frustrating...as I said, what if I had an oversize racquet? He had no clue as to what I was stringing.

more annoying than anything else...he just was dishonest about a few things. Seems like a nice guy, but not worth going through the trouble again.

don't die on me.....Kirbster123 is also Canadian....its a joke, you were only sticking up for him because he is a Canooker (LOL...I am Candian also. I was born in Toronto. Many of my family live in N. York and Pickering.). I know that Canadians sometimes dislike people from the States.

Thanks...I appreciate that. I treat buyer and traders like I want to be treated. Short delays are expected/accepted, but mailing it out 2 weeks later, lying about it and shorting you string is unacceptable. I bet he claims he never got the strings.
