It's the racquet companies and hard court vendors. They read my "reform tennis" topic and had to support the "injury pull outs are due to faked injury not real injury" justification for doing nothing about injury due to hard courts and power racquets. So, they got a mafia or two involved and created this pretext in order to make people think the extremely frequent injury pullouts (particularly in the WTA) are really the players' fault.

The ATP board is also considering a new rule that would punish anyone who fails to report any information about someone else's possible gambling activity.
Sounds like USA in the McCarthy years, or Russia under communism. Big Brother is watching you comes to ATP. |
