Default Widespread power...

Has anyone else noticed how when people on the board describe their game, there's almost always a word like "big", "powerful", or "huge" mentioned talking about serves and groundstrokes. It's funny to me that everyone THINKS they have a huge serve and big groundstrokes, but in reality it's more likely that only to them are the strokes so menacing. It shows that power and "big" or "huge" shots are only relative, and we all have this perfect idea of what our game is, sadly it's usually pretty exagerrated. Maybe this is a self-defense mechanism to keep our interest and happiness up(and "shield" us from our REAL game?

Sounds freud ish to me

Personally, I don't think it's too difficult to hit the ball hard. I've seen 5'6 guys hiting over 100 mph forehands... forehands!

I'm sure any athletic person can hit big as long as they got the mojo

It is sort of like asking a weight lifter how much they bench press. If a guy could bench 240 LBS, there is a good chance that he will tell you that he can press 275 or even 315. It is usually very enlightening when you find yourself in the gym doing bench presses with that same fellow. Suddenly, your companion is telling you that he hasn't warmed up properly, or didn't get enough rest, or went heavy last workout, so he is still a little fatigued.

I know, I've been on both sides of this equation.
