Hello Chopin and thanks for your input. The somewhat turbidised manner of your posting is a challenge, but I reckon you are defending the placement of a comma before a closing quotation mark. I was just uncomfortable with the comma inside the quotation marks around a single word (Ronin), whereas the usage in the quoted text in your posts is agreeable/arguable.

Hello. I hope the rules I posted help. It's easy to remember that all commas and periods go inside quotation marks, at least in America.

1) Always place periods and commas inside quotation marks.

I enjoyed Ozu's "Late Spring," but others refused to watch it because of the subtitles.

(An exception is MLA parenthetical in-text citations).

2) Put colons and semicolons outside of quotation marks.

3) Put question marks and exclamation points inside quotation marks unless they apply to the sentence as a whole.

Examples:

Unfortunately for the message boards, the flame war continued with Poster X asking, "Are you a total idiot?"

Have you read the post where Chopin argues that "Vince Spadea would defeat Rod Laver"?

(Note: This last rule can get a little tricky with MLA parenthetical citations)

Best,

Guys, let me know if you have any questions.

I recently started stringing my racquets, and find the process enjoyable when I am watching sports on television. It is meditative for me, like the pursuits samurai engaged in during peaceful times. If time was a factor, this would be very stressful.

Really? That's bad news for the Boards. I only hope the moderators can ban this poster's IP in the future.

I am becoming more and more annoyed at how fast things I buy become obsolete. In the 1990s, I had nice Nikon film cameras that were built to last. Now, if I buy a nice digital camera, it is archaic two years later. The same is true with televisions, phones, computers, and everything else you can buy.

An exception is tennis racquets, where I think the 1990s racquets performed better, in general, than what is offered today. This brings to mind an obscure question. I hit with Völkl frames that belonged to Ĺsa Carlsson (now Ĺsa Svensson) around 1996. I really liked these framed and wonder what model they were and if Völkl still makes anything similar to the frame.

Here are photos of the frame:

We do live in a "throw-away society", but a a good film SLR-lens can still be used today on a digital SLR. I also believe that if you buy a good DSLR now that you can still use it in 5+ years. I mean who really needs more than 16-18 megapixel and 1080p recording?

As if the flood waters weren't bad enough for the people of Queensland, it now appears that there are sharks swimming in the streets. Two bull sharks were spotted swimming past a McDonald’s in the city of Goodna, Butcher Steve Bateman saw another making its way past his shop on Williams street. Ipswich councillor for the Goodna region Paul Tully said: "It would have swam several kilometres in from the river, across Evan Marginson Park and the motorway. It’s definitely a first for Goodna, to have a shark in the main street."

edit: thankfully they were sensible enough to swim PAST McDonald's. Many humans failed in this respect.

The C7 pro, iirc. Great time for Volkl. I used the c10 comp then the c10 pro. I think the 7 was just a touch lighter and stiffer than the very soft 10 series.

The new/current 7 is not the same, but you ought to try the BB London and the volkl 9. Or even the 10.

Try this:

While sitting in a chair, lift your right foot off the floor and make clockwise circles. Now, while doing this draw the number "6" in the air with your right hand. Your foot will change direction....and there's nothing you can do about it.
