Default Ivo & Isner as Doubles Partners

Anyone else think this would be an interesting pairing for doubles at major tournaments.

It would definately be an insane ace fest.

Boring.
It'd be better if they were on the opposite sides of the court.

I pray for the return of Safin-Federer doubles team. I'd prepare young, crazy Federer in it. They won one tournament I believe.

I am still hoping they meet in a major that is not the U.S. Open. I think it could have potential to set a record in the longest match if it made it to 5 sets.

How would a match with a hundred aces in it set a record for the longest match?

If those guys teamed up in dubs, they could be known as The Two Towers......

In major tournaments the final set cannot be won by a tie-breaker. So, they would go back and forth until someone broke serve in the last set. Neither has a good return and both are insane serving beasts. I imagine the match could go:

7-6,6-7,7-6,6-7,~-~ with the match being decided on a coin toss in the 1000th game.

As well, they would both set the number 1 and number 2 all time season totals for aces in the single match.

You're assuming either of them could return the other's serve...

I agree. In what little I've seen, neither have impressed me with their short game. Once the opponents figure out how to return their serves, it wouldn't be a close match at all.

It would be very hard to return their serves. They take top ten players to tie-breaks regularly.

I do agree put it low, make them run. Neither of them has good movement. Still, I think on sheer serving prowess alone they could get a lot of easy wins.

There is not enough room in one half of a tennis court for both of them

It would be just tough to reach their kick serve.

It would be a dull borefest. Aces are great if you're the acer. Otherwise, it makes watching tennis somewhat dull.

If I was at that match, I would probably leave and go do something else after about an hour.

Interesting idea, but I think either would do a lot better if he paired up with a strong returner for a partner.
