That's an excellent price. Were they purchased from a garage/flea market/thrift/charity sale?

It's possible to shave or sand it down to size. However, it's not recommended as it will compromise the integrity of the racquet because of changes in angle and width of bevels.

Keep it if you plan to play with it or keep it as a collection.

That may be the case, hey you already own it so give it a whirl, if not drop me an email!

I have been wondering weather i should look for more of these or just head back towards the vantage bc20, anybody have much time on both?

Can you or anyone else correct me if i'm wrong but I read a post can't remeber now which thread it was but the ones made in Austria were same mold or play similar to the pt57a? and the one made in the other place plays like an pt57e??

Can someone reassure me this racket is worth keeping and I won't miss it.
PT57A=Pro Tour 630. The PT57E=i.Prestige Midplus.

That's what I did, shaved it 1.5 size down, and placed 2 over grips on the bare handle. Now its a little bit lighter, which is good for me since its a bit heavy already.
Bevels do feel different, but nothing I cant get used to.

I gotta say one more time, this racket has such a solid feel on contact its unbelievable good!!

@Pshulam
He bought it from some guy that buys ~100 rackets for 1-2 euro each, not sure where he gets them from, I think its from Austria.

@Dave M
That's not possible with this racket

Default full grommets?

I just picked up a Head 630, which feels heavier than my 280. The hoop is really clean on this racquet and I'd like to protect it. I've seen some 280/630's with "full grommets," which provides greater coverage. Does anyone know which grommets with fit the 630 and provide greater protection?

Thanks!

Jay

Exactly..every prestige mp grommets will fit.
But will be 10g heavier and racquet will be more head heavy and swingweight will be increased.

Thank you Dave M. and Waginen. I certainly don't want to disturb the weight of the racquet that much. Perhaps I'll just use some tape to protect the head. Any other suggestions?

Hi Dave,

Youtek radical grommets - 19g
Youtek/microgel prestige mp grommets(tk23 - 29g
Original PT630(tk57) grommets - 33g

Therefore balance will move towards head heavy for about 1 cm(2-3 points) and swingweight will be increased by about 15 points.

Ales

Where youtek radical grommets weight will match original short pt630 grommets weight(not caps)

Oh, so if I replace the original 630 grommets with the MG Prestige MP grommets then the racquet will be a bit lighter and a bit more head light. This is my first 630 and although I haven't played with it yet, it feels a bit heavier than my 280. So the weight savings will be welcome, albeit just somewhat lighter.

Yes, it will be around 4 grams lighter and fraction less head heavy. It is not much, but to me it was quite noticable. I needed to reduced swingweight by about 10 points to what I am used to and this has just done it. I have bought couple of new PT630's with SW around 345. I am used to SW around 330-335 with PT630. Grommet exchange got it to 335. I hope this helps

hi Ales, do you know the weight for the CAP mp grommets. i need to add weight to my MG Rad MP and thought this might be the way to go instead of adding lead. thanks!

Except radical those are the weights of the cap mp grommets(all prestige are cap grommets). So caps will add 10g to your frame. But I would also counterweight it in the handle to make it more headlight. You can use silicon, lead or install leather grip. MG radical has quite low swingweight and is very light so it can be very well customized.
