I saw on original Head covers that came with racquets on inside label that states production year 1995 (made in austria), they came without full CAP grommets. As they are in bad shape (grommets), I need to change them, so I found on our club pages that Radical Mp bumper, and grommets will fit.

I have in my shop 2x bumper and grommets from YT Radical MP, and I can get them today, will they fit PT?, and is there a difference because they are made from Teflon and not regular black ones.

I took some pictures of new and my old PT's, I will post them tomorrow...
thanks.
They will fit. You should not notice any big difference unless the weight is different which probably is. I would weigh the grommets first or racket with original and then with new grommets. You can tune it with lead tape then.

Thanks for quick replay.
If i want to put full Cap grommets, would grommets from prestige YT mid fit the PT, as they are 18x20? or just MP prestige ( microgel or youtek).

Definitely put on a leather grip, and the frame seems to work best with a thin poly setup.
I'm looking to put a leather grip on my trek PT630 Austria with full CAPS. My other trek PT630 Austria has a leather grip, not sure which kind, and feels better and makes the grip size bigger which is what I want. Also looking to make the racquet more headlight and more manueverable as I'm playing lotsa doubles lately. Will making it more headlight ease the load on my shoulder which gets sore sometimes? I think it will, from a physics and physical therapy point of view... i'm a physical therapist.... SO....Which leather grip works best with this racquet and for what I'm looking for? Head, TW, Babolat, Volkl, Fairway, and where should I buy it?
Thanks in advance! james dot ys dot yang at gmail or reply here as appropriate. thanks and good tennis.

... one more question..... i'm using yonex super grap overgrips, which width 22 or 25 mm works best for feel if i go with the TW grips that offer different sizes? i'm thinking the 1.5 thickness ones are what i want too to increase the grip size a bit.

Tired a few leather grips - Head, Wilson and finally settled on Babolat.

Ultimately it is all down to feel - both the Wilson and the Babolat allowed me the locate the bevels well but overall I enjoyed the feel and feedback from the Babolat more.

And the most expensive, if you can find them. Try the 'bay. Even found them there in black!

Guys I learnt from reading this comprehensive thread that a retail strung up PT630 ( with bumper guard not CAP ) weighs 340g and is about 8pts HL. Having the CAP will add around 10g.
Can someone tell me what is the new balance now? With all 10g distributed around the hoop I am afraid it might make sluggish.... Hence would using the Youtek/microgel radical bumper grommets would be better?

gonna bump this up again

Got my PT630 out recently for a hit and for some reason I snagged another... and now I am in the process of sorting getting their weight and balance

My first PT630 has this TK55A bumper, may I know if this is the original ones found on this racket? or is it some Microgel/Youtek Radial bumper/grommet
My 2nd PT630 comes with this 3/4 CAP, is this the i.Prestige XL MP ones (I cant find any TK code on it)?

Default Caps

I'm sure this has been covered but what Caps fit at this moment in time. 2012/13 model racquets. Thank you in advance for any response as I know this is tedious.

Is there anyway to make this thing lighter?

My pt630 is 354g strung, with one overgrip ... is that the normal weight btw?
It's too heavy for me, hopefully i can make it lighter somehow.

The spec is 340g strung, I think. If it is CAPed, replace it with non-cap grommets. A lighter grip may help but may change the balance.

Which version do you have, the old Heads have varying weights and PT630 trek font with non CAPS is lightest, usually 320g unstrung with original synthetic grip..

If yours is already the non CAPS version, you can change to Microgel Radical MP grommets (reduce 7g from original TK55A) , change your overgrip to Wilson Pro Sensation (3g, lighter than most), rewrap the replacement grip with minimal overlap to reduce another 1-2g, change your dampener to rubberband (1g, lightest), what else............

My PT630 has trek font, non CAPS, and is still over 350g strung (main grip+overgrip and nothing else) is that normal?

EDIT: yeah, I have TK55A, now its gonna be ultra hard to find Microgel Radical MP grommets (whats their marking?).

It is normal if you have heavy string (thick gauge poly or gut). There is no code on MG Radical MP grommets, I looked at one. TW sells it, easy..

Hi,
i hope anyone can help me, i have question about my PT630 MIA.
Inside the throat is printed that it has 16x19 string pattern. But I counted the strings and it definitely has 18x20, so they printed the wrong on the frame.
Does anybody know about this? Is it a wrong print or a fake?
Regards
