If Nations Settled Their Differences On The Tennis Court Who Would Be The Superpower?
I think Spain would certainly be a powerhouse. Switzerland would have big power but unable to conquer more than one territory at a time.

I saw our former president bush on the court...and for his age he's not bad!

haha, some threads are just too good! i think there would be plenty of people willing to pay major bucks to see world leaders duke it out on the tennis court!

So then Switzerland would be the World Superpower? Or are we making GW Bush play tennis? B/c then I think Federer would go into politics.

The swedes would conquer all b/c of Federer. He's unstoppable, it's unfair. That's like if only one nation in the whole world had nukes, they'd be unstoppable....FEDERER IS DA BOMB. (haha, i so funny)

Depends on the surface...
And whether or not the players took it 'seriously' because after all, its just an exhibition, right?

The USA would still be a world power because, with tennis now a matter of "national security", they would pump $459 billion into the sport.
We would have 15 tennis aircraft carrier battle groups...instead of runways on their decks, the carriers would have hardcourts.

You have to look at Davis Cup results and the U.S. still has a great joint arsenal that is very much into country empires. Fed doesn't play tennis for his country and Nadal didn't play against the U.S.
Second best empire, those pesky Rooskies. |

Imagine if Spain had the Bryan brothers as their double team. A team with them, Nadal, Ferrer and Lopez would be amazing.
