Noelle, you would be surprised how many gorgeous public tennis courts there are if you go to rich suburban neighborhoods. I just got back from visiting my dad in Virginia and they have 10, beautiful, immaculate hard courts complete with lights, concave practice walls, singles and doubles courts. All this is totally open to the public at the local community center.

Superior_Forehand, like I said earlier in this thread, I don't live in the U.S.

In the Philippines, really well-maintained courts are usually found at exclusive country clubs or rich suburban neighborhoods which are closed to the public. Since the country is seismically active, it's also hard to keep a court's surface smooth because the ground shifts; it would take a lot of investment to maintain a court. Hence, the public courts I've been on look like the one in my picture.

No kidding. In Hong Kong tennis was so expensive, hence why i didn't start playing until I came to the States. Btw, those courts aren't really public, but they are cheap to play on. I've never payed for court time though since I always had friends at clubs or what not. I can also use the courts where I teach at. Another thing to note is that you can always find free courts in good shape at High Schools and Colleges....at least in Texas....

Yeah, in Georgia as well. Also, every neigborhood in the ATL burbs has great courts. I have 2 excellent courts in my subdivision, in a beautiful setting, that I can walk onto at any time.

I'll take pix this Friday, if anyone cares.

Yes, please take pics. I'd love to drool over other people's courts.

The courts at my university are pretty nice, we have three new and three old. The old ones have a couple cracks but nothing severe.

Great courts superior forehand and saschanator. I cant wait for summer to arrive so I can hit the outdoor courts.

Noelle, I can sympathize with you. I grew up on a cracked hard court which got so worn out that the surface actually became shiny like a mirror. Super fast surface

I hate courts with no dividers between them. There are so much, "ball please" distractions in those type of courts.
