Since I correctly predicted that the Roddick-Gilbert marriage would end in divorce by the end of the year (following Roddick's French loss) let me point out that Roddick's blindsiding of Gilbert has put him in a strong position to win the breakup spin war.
With two shallow, arrogant types like these a bttier split was inevitable. Gilbert to "win" should have dumped Roddick as incorrigible after the Johansson US Open or Hewitt Masters-Cup losses, when Roddick showed he will most likely never be able to focus when things are not going his way. The sniping will be conducted mostly through "leaks" on the various tennis news outlets, although Gilbert may make some veiled remarks on ESPN appearances. It will be as nasty and petty as the two principals themselves. The rose-clored glasses crowd will be horrified and deny this will occur, but they also said the partnership would last 'til Roddick was dominating the senior tour lol. |
