Whatever dampener comes with the racquet stays on there after each restring so mine's a black Yonex.

Use rubber band. Cheap, tied to string and never fly off. Anyway... use whatever you like as long as you think it is helping your game. I doubt any dampener or rubber band neutralize the vibration, just mute or lessen the ping sound only.

Yep, but I don't play USTA so I'll never have to worry about it.

I used the one that came with my racquet until it fell off, noticed I liked the feel much better, and haven't used one since. I also recently realized that a number of pros don't use one, e.g., Federer, Murray.

Used one for years, then used a rubber band, and then forgot to put one on. Haven't used one since.

@ corbine. I really like that dampener, it would never fall off
I use really stiff poly string so I do need a vibration dampener other wise its really uncomfortable and probably unhealthy. I hit quite hard and like the damp feel anyway so the lack of feel isnt an issue. |

Using the volkl and the big pacific "o" damps in some dense pattern rackets I have. I noticed now they are fitted, two of the mains are pushed noticeably out to the left and the right just to squeeze them in. Is this a big no-no? Should I swap them for a smaller damp so the mains/crosses sit flush?
