Soap then shampoo, but after reading this I'm going to have to reverse it. That is, if I think of it while I'm half asleep at seven in the morning...

If you have a lot of hair, I suggest getting shampoo over with. That way your hair isn't soaking when you get out.
It's simple bathroom strategy folks Now, on to wiping. Front side or back side? |

If I just came back from a heavy tennis match, I always shampoo first, then soap afterwards. The shampoo starts from my head, so it won't be a problem if I soap afterwards. (It's the best of both worlds, I guess.) I never-not shampoo anyway, so it really doesn't make a difference for me. Not sure about others' vices.

I'd like to ask a serious question.
Do people in the US use shampoo everyday? or even almost everyday ? |

I am American male with short hair. I do not shampoo every day. That cannot be healthy (natural oils and stuff). I use soap every day on my body, often twice. I brush my teeth 2 to 3 times a day. But shampoo is not nearly as necessary, I think. I use a tiny bit of shampoo every other day. Usually a good rinse is sufficient unless I've been really sweating. I always shampoo after I've been someplace with cigarette/cigar smoke or a firepit. Conditioner, I feel is a good-smelling way to resore some of the oils to the hair and the scalp. But shampoo? I think that's more marketing than necessity. Oh, and speaking of marketing, that whole rinse and repeat thing was a great way to boost shampoo sales. |

Yes, rinse and repeat is a way to increase sales and I think most of the good brands have stopped printing that.
I can't put conditioner on my scalp, the type that I use for my very dry hair is far too thick for my moderately oily scalp. People with very short, normal hair are lucky, they can use those 2 in 1 shampoos like Pert and save money on all the other stuff.

I live in a coastal area far away from the US. We use Tide instead of shampoo. (failed attempt at humor). Stormy, loved your line - "bathing causes autism". I don't know why but just loved it.
