Default Post Your Official Code Violations Here

I was rummaging through some old books and found this from one of my old tournaments. Anyone have anything similar?

Ha!!

Now that's funny. I especially like how the official spells "gesture."

I guess the act resembled "Jesture" just a little bit more.

So Moz, did you win?

Unfortunately the gesture summed up my play rather too accurately in that match.

I'm jealous! We never got actual written pieces of paper. I've lost points, lost a sponsorship, got kicked out of a league (and then let back in) but those are just memories.

Just got a couple of ideas after reading that, but I'll try to forget about them - I'm insistent that I'll be better behaved now that I'm playing again. (However, every time I set foot on a court in a match, I can feel the blood boiling.)

Say I am Moz's kid, maybe 7 years old, and I see this on the wall...the line of questions may go as follows...

1. What's a code violation?
2. Who gave it to you?
3. What does visible obscenity mean?
4. What's a sexual gesture?

See what I mean...

How did your opponent react?

Me, I'd fall over laughing if my opponent made such a Jesture.

Of course, I wasn't at the match, and did not see the "offense." but I recognized the signature of the official in question. Trust me, spelling errors or not, I can't imagine any of the officials I work with not "coding" that offense.

A college I work at has a motto, "Success With Honor." I don't think what led to a writeup by a respected official was very honorable.

that is some funny stuff, but this is one of the reasons I will never play usta tennis. everything is too prim and proper for my liking.

This was defeat with dishonour. The lesson is there in the final result of the match. Lesson was learnt.

The official was a nice chap - we had a bit of a laugh about it afterwards.
