I've actually hit with one, but didn't know the specs. It does not, by any means, feel like a 72 stiffness rating. It's definitely firm, and not that flexible, but it in no way feels that stiff.

Then there must be something wrong w/ your strokes. I hit w/ a Hyper PS 6.1 for 3 years, followed now by the Babolat PC+ '2001', which has identical stats. I've never had arm pain or fatigue, and I'm pushing 40...

I've hit with one and it didn't feel like it was 12.6 ounces. It felt extremely manueverable and It played well.

I didn't want to creat a thread just to ask this question so I post it in this existing thread.

I got me 2 PS Classic 6.1 MP from the bay.

one is 16x18 the other is 18x20, I bought them to try them on.

But I noticed they are quite different,

The 18x20 has a more matte paint and says "Graphite Kevlar Composite, 80% graphite 20% kevlar" and the white buttcap with little letters code UKX and has a little sticker that reads "CHINA" on it. It has specs on the yoke and the wilson quality control sticker

the 16x18 seems lighter and has a shinier paintjob and says "Braided Graphite Kevlar composite, 80% Graphite 20% Kevlar" and has the code XSV in the white buttcap. No specs in the yoke, it has the PWS system description instead and it doesn't have the "Wilson Quality" sticker.

could you experts tell me, which one is older and some information about them ?

Just looking at the font of "Pro Staff", your 16x18 is older than your 18x20.

I could be wrong but I heard the 18*20 is released in Europe and Asia, where the 16*18 is released in US.

check the length of the 18x20.

it is actually a longbody version of the 6.1 classic. if it is the same length, then the previous owner chopped off an inch from the handle.

the longbody version had a denser string patter than the standard issue 27 incher.

No, both are same lenght and there is no chopped bout.

If was done properly you wouldn't be able to tell if the handle has been shortened unless you remove the butt cap. I believe the racquet in the picture with the leather grip and the red shoulders was only produced as a "stretch" model. If it is the same length as the other racquet it has probably been shortened.

No the original 18x20 PSC was standard lenght, it was released as stretch later on.

This racquet apparently has had stiffness ratings posted from up at 70-71 right down to maybe 66. I believe the 70 rating myself, but it's also never occurred to me that this frame should be especially hard on the arm just because it's so heavy. With a lot of inertia on board, the ball just doesn't knock it around as much as maybe a frame that weighs perhaps an ounce less.

Volleying with this racquet is like standing Superman in front of a speeding bullet... listen for it... "plink"...

Speaking of bullets, a buddy of mine got talking about the kevlar in these racquets and how that material is so good at absorbing energy at impact. While it's especially handy for making bullet-proof vests, it also has a deadening effect when it's used in racquet construction, at least in his view. This is what he believes makes for a more civilized experience with this stiff, heavy racquet that you probably wouldn't see with 100% graphite construction.

No materials expert am I, but I'd bet that the kevlar takes some potential evil out of this frame along with the ProStaff 6.0 85's and even my beloved old Donnay Pro Cynetic 1's.

I still own a few of the PSC 6.1 Tours, which were the Euro only 18x20 frames. They're pretty much the same as the 16x18, just different string pattern. Also, they came with Fairway leather grips.
