As a sometimes-one-hander, i'm not at all qualified to give feedback on your stroke.

One thing you might have noticed yourself though is that you seem to get a little flat-footed when you move back to the ready position. Keep bouncing! Completely understandable if your legs were stuffed from earlier though

I am so proud of Federer.

I just got back from a nice hit. I'm usually pretty happy after I hit, and usually I really enjoy the one-hander. But even more so today.

It's variations of topspin 1HBHs and some slice 1HBHs thrown in for good measure. (total clip is under a minute thirty seconds.)

After today, I'm making a complete racquet change from APDCs to Pure Drive GTs. I hadn't really worked out my backhand with the new racquets and was lacking that confidence as we head into the playoffs (USTA)...good to go now.

For the gear heads, I'm hitting with a Pure Drive GT w/Luxilon M2 strung up at 59 pounds.

Feedback is welcome, but keep in mind I've only been playing since November.

I am having doubts about my one hander. I think I might me done with it. Today I was playing and my one hander was failing me so I started hitting two handers out of nowhere and I had much more success with it

I am watching the Wimbledon films, and seeing Lendl and Edbergs backhand. V impressive.
Just saw a snip of Sabatini's bh, makes one feel sad that the ugly 2 hander has become so popular.

Yes. Truth. And Michael Stich is another one to watch.

There are really only a few players smooth enough to make the ungainly 2 hander look sweet. Rios, Safin, Tsonga. There are more, but the list is short.

Of course, the list is short, too, of one-handers without liability (and with a formidable weapon) on the BH side.

But, aesthetically, it's no contest.

Viva Federer....now that all of a sudden his BH doesn't stink anymore.

See we got some new members around here, good to see.

My trials for hitting less slice are going well, I have managed to hit out much more often and with more authority. Feels great!

Other news:
I had tears running down my cheeks when Fed won. Just sayin....

well, several months ago i was considering switching to a 1hander, but decided against it. today i played a semifinal match, and my TE was hurting from the start, on all shots. so i switched to a 1HBH, and won 2 games in the first set before having to retire...still a great shot. LONG LIVE THE ONE HANDER!

Proud of Haas and Wawrinka. Leonardo Mayer y Fernando Gonzalez, too. And of course, Roger and Kohli. And Dudi Sela! Great backhand, and a perfect name ..... if he were a fertilizer salesman.

After playing so long with a small gripsize and always having trouble with heavy spinny balls to my backhand, now im playing with a bigger gripsize and i cant believe how much stable and powerful my backhand is. Actually, all my strokes have improved. Now i have no problem dealing with heavy spin, and returning fast paced balls.

Yes, and Ivo, too. A couple of clutch one-handers.

4 out of 8 guys in the bottom half hit a one-hander: Dudi Sela, Roger, Ivo and Haas. Represent!

Congratulations fellers. We won the Wimbledon again.
Cheers to Wawrinka for a splendid display against Murray. And to Haas for reaching a WO semi.

just wondering, can one handers use head heavy racquets or do you recommend using even balance to head light for one handed backhand?
