Am I right that the RF versions of this (Nike Match Stripe) fit slightly tighter than the regular ones?

The sleeves are shorter on the RF versions for sure. They are too long on the other version for my tastes, though I rarely wear polos.

Cheers man. Switching over to some nike apparel from adidas and trying to figure out sizing. Tried on some nike polos in the shops, but not the exact ones I'm buying online. Getting some of the match stripe polos, hopefully they'll fit sharpish in medium. It gets more confusing that the RF shirts are tighter and so might require large. In any case they're too pricey for me!

Does anyone wear either 'nike net woven shorts' or 'nike match woven shorts' and can say anything about fit?

Nah, the RF and Nadal tops are still pretty boxy- certainly not slim-fit. I'm 5'11, 180lbs fwiw.

Sleeves are shorter on both than rest of Nike range, all the Nike w/spandex tops feel great and I prefer to adi. Woven shorts are fine but a little tight in the backside- I like the Showdown/advtge shorts 2/ spandex better (don't pay close to $52 though).

Best shorts period are 8" Barricade shorts, though those 6'4" and above may need longer.

The RF logo of the real item is all green.. TWE could put the wrong picture or that picture might be the "older" design of the sweater or maybe the picture will be the real sweater that Fed will wear during Wimbledon.. Mine have just arrived today, the Nike and RF logos are all green, while the stripes at the collar, wrists, and bottom of the sweater are only 2 purple stripes, while in the picture, they were supposed to be 1 purple and 1 green.. Let us just wait until Wimbledon starts

Thanks! Do you wear medium in nike shirts or large? I'm 6' and about 175lbs, and going for medium (I wear medium in adidas). Do you know if the 'nike woven match shorts' are 9inch inseam? I purchased some 'nike net woven shorts' and they're much too small/tight, but I think these are the 7inch ones, so I'll have to send them back (bought online). So can either try find them in 9inch or go for the match ones. Or try find some showdown ones, are they 9inch inseam too?

EDIT: found some showdown ones online for good price, so will probably go for those

By the way has anybody tried the nike showdown polo?

Thanks guys

Showdown shorts are 9" and fit well in a Medium, i think the basic wovens are 7" but they seem a little longer than that but are tight around the butt. With the Match shorts, don't pay close to full price as they are far inferior to the Euro-market Fed shorts.

I'm 5'11 and 180 and for sure sure a large would be too baggy on you, more suited to someone broader. Go with a medium. It didn't used to be the case, but all Nike tennis shirts (even the RF/Nadal line) fit quite boxy nowadays.

Thanks for the advice! Really helpful. I usually go for large in shorts myself but I'm a little taller. The 'nike net woven' 7 inch were far too short for me so I reckon showdown in large will work, and I've found them online for good price.

EDIT: The showdown shorts aren't hugely more baggy than the aforementioned are they? The 'net woven' seem mostly fine in L except for the length and seem a little on the tight side. I always wear L in adidas shorts.

Thanks!!

You're totally welcome.

No, stick with L for both shorts. I wear an M in all.

In my response before this I was recommending you order an M in shirts as all Nike tops are boxy.

Yeah I realized (just was unsure about shorts 'cause you mentioned them being good in M for showdown), and it was good advice! I got the 'nike match stripe' polos and fit is absolutely perfect in M.

(That's similar to how it looks on me, sleeves cover all of bicep)

Only one issue: as I expected (and as you forewarned) the sleeves are a tad on the long side. It doesn't seem to ruin the overall look/feel of the shirt since it's not baggy at all (fits sharp) - just like an inch/inch and a half too long in the sleeves.

So I guess my question is (sorry to keep pestering you ), do you know if the RF version (which is 'RF smash stripe') fit exactly the same (as the 'match stripe' non-RF model) except for the sleeves being shorter? I love the fit of these, just want slightly shorter sleeves. I'm looking at the RF ones and it looks like that's what I'll get. I'm wary the sleeves might be a bit too short (lol I guess I'm picky). But if the fit is the same with shorter sleeves that'd be awesome. From pictures it looks like the RF sleeves end around the bottom stripe rather than continuing for another inch or so.

I guess originally I didn't actually want to go RF cause the stuff is more pricey plus I don't actually want 'RF' on my clothing (I'm a huge fan... I'm just not Roger Federer) but if fit is better, then I guess I'll be converted

Thanks again!

No probs at all bud. Yes, fit is basically the same ( and material remains 88/12 poly/spndx)but sleeves are shorter. Far nicer, same goes for the Nadal-line. This is the sole reason I have a couple of Federer items- I like him but lie you do not want his initials, but am sometimes prepared to put up with them (on sale) due to the fit and feel of his gear.

It's settled, RF gear it is! On a side note, the showdown line is amazing! The shorts and polos arrived today and the shorts are perfect and the polos even more perfect. I have this in the yellow as well as blue:

I think it was a DelPo line a couple of years back. The sleeves are shorter on this model and are perfect. If the RF is anything like this I'll be very happy indeed
Thanks for all the advice! Really appreciate it
