Well, I have finally had the opportunity to swing a Donnay PRo One OS and can tell you that it does not feel as light to swing or as manueverable as my 4 stripes. It was fairly light at 11.9 0z but 6 pts headlight. The POG's are 12.3 oz and about 10 pts headlight and they swing every bit as easy if not easier. I have my answer about manueverablilty. What a shame that prince changed the balance of these things along the way. Well I guess that is just my take. If I play OS...I will play prince POG 4 stripe.
Now, back to working with my RdS002 tour. |

Was it a demo? Too bad you didn't have the opportunity to swap the grip out for leather as many people I know do.

I had the opp but I think that would have put them fairly close and no need at this point to have two diff models that cover the same thing. When I took leather off of my Pogs they went down to around 11.9, 12.0 and were still more than 6 pts headlight. I just don't think they would be that much more manueverable even with leather to make a difference.

Then if you run out of 4 strpes you can always turn to avery. Personally I found the donnay to swing lighter than the avery but I guess it depends on the swing aswell as the swingweight.

I decided to keep the Donnay anyway. I put leather on it and it is 12.2 0z, around 8 pts headlight. Swings almost identical to my princes. I figured I would keep it for the fun of it and you never know how I might like it in actual hitting sitchuation. I am playing with yonex rds200 tour now (trying it out) to see if I can gegt more out of my serve and also becaue I ws able to trade even to get it. that stick is much more demanding onmy technique but is very interesting to play with.

Can anyone compare the maneuverability of the current TW POG OS and the 4-stripe POG/Donnay OS?

There was a post not too long ago which someone measured the newest graphic POG OS as being 2pts and 3 pts head light for two rackets measured by a MRT. It is less maneuverable than the four stripe POG OS. The new graphic POG OS are more head heavy than the old 4 stripe which are approx 8-10pts headlight.

Thanks guys. I also heard the new POG being a bit stiffer and lower in static weight. Wondering how it compares to the Agassi radical LE.... probably I'll just order one and try it myself.

Another question is, how do I lead up my Tour Graphite to get it like a 4 stripe or a Pro One? Throw lead in the handle? Will that make the swingweight unmanageable? Final question, Pro One players, are the grommets hanging in there? If that issue gets fixed, I will be playing Pro Ones big time. |
