Default Tyger StringEco 410

Any thoughts, opinions on this machine? I'm considering buying an electric machine that is not too expensive.

€550 / $850

Sadly I don't have the specs available.

It's almost identical. Can anyone spot the difference?

On the SP Jive both side arm are adjusted by a single adjustment knob, where the Tyger has an adjustment knob of each side arm.

Is that what you noticed?

That's all I got The electronics panel is 100% identical. I would be shocked if these weren't made in the same factory.

Wow that's like.. the same machine Would you prefer the Tyger for having an adjustment knob of each side arm?

Question One Knob vs Two Knobs

I have used both setups and I prefer the single knob.
It is faster, you have half as many knobs to turn, and since both arms are moving in towards the racquet frame together there is less of a chance of mounting the frame at an angle.

I see, I see.. but you wouldn't really call it a disadvantage would you? Just takes a bit longer I guess.

For over a year I had a mounting system like the Tyger on my Alpha Revo4K, and it worked just fine. It was a little slower, and you have to be a little more careful. Basically, you want both side arms to be applying the same pressure on both sides of the frame. When you have to adjust each are independently, this leave more opportunity to not have both arms applied with the same pressure. With the setup where both arm move in and out together, it kind of self lines up the frame.

I would prefer the single knob, but I would not eliminate a machine because it uses two knobs to adjust the side arms.

Alright. I see what you mean there. The machine arrived today and you have to be really careful when mounting, since the side arms are all done seperately. Oh well.. I can live with it Just be real precise.

Will post pictures later!

Exclamation Congratulations

Pro Staff Pete - I wish you all the best with your new stringer. I am sure the mounting system will work great. You need to find an electronic fish scale that can measure up to 75lbs or 35kgs, and test the tension.

Good Luck

Thanks guys. I got it from Tennis Planet (dot com), a Dutch site that you can compare with TW - not as big though. I've strung one racquet on it so far, a Tour 90 of a friend of mine, with Luxilon BB XP (which has been his favourite string for years) @ 57 lbs/26 kg.

The mounting system works fine. The knobs are easy to use and it doesn't take much time to mount the frame. I've never strung a racquet on an electric machine, but things speak for themselves. I already tried the gripper with a single piece of string - that I'd clamped in one of the clamps - and it was fairly easy to use. You really don't need to pull it tightly, a little pressure was enough, then press the green button and there it goes. It also has a pre-stretch function on it. Haven't used it yet though.

The swivel clamps, however, were new to me since I'd been using flying clamps on my dropweight. I'd seen them in different videos, but still I need to do some more stringjobs on this machine to get the hang of it. Meaning the movement of the clamps and locking them. Besides, I need to adjust the teeth to the point where I'm satisfied and don't need to change their clamping pressure on the string. When I got to the crosses I was getting more comfortable with them. Overall they work tremendously easy - as I expected.

I think this is a great machine for a nice price. If you don't want to spend too much money on a electric machine but you're still looking for a decent machine that will probably bring you years of joy, I'd go for this one OR the Silent Partner machine that appears to be the exact same machine, only different colours.

Do you mind taking a picture of the mounting with out a racquet on it?

Wow, such a nice machine. Did the racquet handle collide with the tensioner?

And did the clamps work fine?

Also, about this single knob thing, how do you know how precise you are? Like must you align the side arms symmetrical with the 12 and 6 o clock mounts?
